In an unfortunate accident of timing, the Argus announced the news about the third Albion player a full THREE minutes after a seperate article announced 'Coronavirus: No new Brighton and Hove cases in the last 24 hours'

True. We could assume the player in question lives outside of the city though.

To be fair a lot of lot less " scummy " sources are going to say ' how convenient'. I'd like think we have far more integrity and the incident just shows how problematical any restart is.

It will be amusing to see the reaction, or lack of therewith, once a Liverpool player tests positive.

No doubt some scummy tabloid gutter hack will accuse the club of lying because we don't want to resume.
When in reality it is just as possible that a club that wants to restart would keep quiet about cases that statistically they would expect to already have.

I look forward to hear i.e. Crystal Palace fans and other safe teams laughing in the direction of Brighton try to argue on how the concept of "least number of Covid-19 infected players win" dont threaten the integrity of the competition.

I do sometimes believe our CEO’s openness backfires. We’re getting a lot of stick at the moment.

Solly from hailsham.?

Who knows! My point is, Brighton has separate reporting for C19 from the rest of Sussex. I'm pretty sure that not all our players live in Brighton.

I think we'll cope.

I do too. However it would be nice to see the attention be on another club for a while. Especially if they are also questioning the same issue. Other clubs have stated things but it’s not followed up, this is likely due to not being available for an interview.

Be interesting how the vote goes tomorrow, then things may well escalate.

I do sometimes believe our CEO’s openness backfires. We’re getting a lot of stick at the moment.

The thing is, he's only said it once, hasn't he? And because he was the first the whole media jumped on it and now we're the first to be mentioned every time this whole situation is brought up. Others have said the same - Watford, Villa, haven't Bournemouth too?

It's easy for the teams with nothing to play for/up the top to criticise but at the end of the day those scrapping for survival will always be more vocal as there's so much riding on it. It's all very rich of them anyway as the only reason they want to restart is for financial reasons. Same reason we want it to be fair - financial reasons and costs of going down.

I've seen a few interviews that he's said it. He's easily been on TV more than any other CEO.

Be interesting to see what happens if one club is forced to pull out of any fixtures because of ' squad isolation ' as has already happened in Germany with Dynamo Dresden. Will these games still be played at a later date? Or if one or more clubs feels unable to participate due to any particular circumstances ( e.g neutral venues...date of restart...etc )
So many imponderables. One thing is certain, whilst this virus continues to infect thousands, many will not feel comfortable with a restart.
