I am 67 today and would like to see the Albion in the premiership
so bloody well hurry up

I went to Royal Surrey Hospital for a check up last week and joking with the surgeon said I had to live to see BHA in the Premier, his reply was well I am a lot younger than you and I dont think I will live that long. He then added that he was a Reading supporter

Happy Birthday. I am 7 years behind you, so would also appreciate some urgency.

After decades of mediocrity, Great Britain finishing in 4th and 3rd place at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.

The general revival in British sports after living through the embarassing 1980s and 1990s. As others have mentioned, UK players winning the Tour de France and tennis grand slams.

A team from League Two / Fourth division making a cup final (Bradford City).

Alex Ferguson retiring (he would've kept going for another 30 years if his health permitted)

Calculators and live TV broadcast from USA and/or rest of the world.

You try doing long calculations in exams with 4-figure log tables. To do the mental arithmetic to add and subtract the logs (with 'powers') is probably the equivalent of a pass at GCSE level today.
We could listen live to sports events, but had to watch it one day late after the film had been flown in from Tokyo (Olympics) and Oz for the Ashes.

Amazing what you can do if you move out of Brighton.
