Driving through Sussex early Sunday morning on a beautiful summer's day when there is hardly any traffic around.

There's a whole host of things that although I wouldn't say I love I certainly appreciate. Such things as the NHS, Public Transport, Social Services, yes even our politicians.

We complain about them often enough but when you have been somewhere where some, if not all these things are non existent then you begin to realise that we're not badly off.

The only saving grace about this overcrowded, grey little island is the fact that we are the only country in the world where you can buy fondant fancies on the open market. Without that little pleasure we'd all be suicidal!

brighton, actually
apart from most people speaking my (ENG-ER-LISH) language..

proper toilets- not low level ones with a shelf (for viewing?!), or 'heads', 'johns', or even just holes in the floor..

weather variety- just all sun, or all rain, snow etc would be boring..

country pubs, with gardens- great for a rest after long bike rides in summer, or even in winter if you're hard enuff..

freshly cooked, chunky chips - not french/freedom fries.. in fact any simply cooked food..

a general sense of freedom, safety, and goodwill..? perhaps my parents brought me up to be too kind and trusting!
