I was in the Boys Brigade and got the piss taken out of me…….left and became a skin head a few years later and chased people like you.
Yep, same here. Did you go to Glynde camp ?

Oh forgot - shoplifting at Woolworths. Even my Dad's generation served their apprenticeships nicking the pick and mix and more from Woolies. That's why modern thieves are rubbish.

Yes many times, I occasionally work in Ringmer and drive through Glynde, always think of the camp.
I went every year from 81-87. I understand it is still going but somewhere else in the area near Ringmer. I played cricket for the Old Boys for a number of years.

If you go up to Easthill Part in Portslade, and down to the far south west corner, near where Alex Dawson lived, you will find a wall between the park and the field. The wall there has been part demolished and rebuilt in rather unattractive brick.

I knocked that wall down, with the (feeble) assistance of Steve Neilson in around 1969.

Gratuitous vandalism.

I was only 10 at the time. But I had the intellect that would qualify me as criminally responsible.

Yeah, prove that, wankers! :lolol:
Don’t need to, you’ve coughed. Going down.

Buying rolls of caps for cap guns from the newsagent and setting them off with your finger nail/burning finger
Putting said caps on the model railway line at Beech Hurst, Haywards Heath and startling people with the resulting cacophony when the train went over them.

Knocking round for your mates. Used to head out on my own then knock for a mate, then on to the next house and the next. Sometimes in the summer they'd be a dozen of us playing football, making camps causing trouble trying (and failing) to meet girls

Fixing a bit of water pipe to a block of wood, hammer the fixed end flat, drop in a lit banger then a handful of dried peas...then aim at the neighbour's window. Anyone...no 🤔

WH Smith were good for that except when, like me, you get caught in my case for trying to nick a balloon of all things.

The cheapest fags as we called them after taking up smoking aged 7 (first one a sophisticated Olivier) were Park Drive, Anchor and Woodbine Tipped at 1s 3d for 10 or Dominos at 4 for sixpence.

Has nobody mentioned collecting autographs? Sussex County Cricket Ground was a good place for this and discovering who was nice to autograph hunters (Ray Illingworth immediately springs to mind) and who wasn't (as one of many to receive snooty Ted Dexter's immortal words: 'f*** off.' John Arlott was similarly dismissive.
