The return buses for routes P and S leave at 4.50 and 5.00pm, won't we still be playing when first is due to leave  are there fireman's poles to get out quick from WSU?

Can the vouchers be used for any bog standard bus on match days for example the 5B from Blatchington Road to the Universities?

Yes , at the moment B&H Buses are saying its one voucher per journey , things might change once its realised some fans will be using 2 buses to get to The Amex which could be solved by issuing a transfer ticket to complete the journey on 2 buses with one voucher which I think was the club's original perception of how the TV scheme would work. I suppose at the end of the day B&H Buses can just say they are not a charity.

With stoppage time the games wont finish until a few minutes before 5pm , walking down the stairs from the WSU along with several thousand others means not getting to the pick up point until 5.15pm , alternatively you'll have to leave your seat midway through the 2nd half to get on the bus.

Brighton Hove Bus and Coach Company

Buses to the new Football Stadium - Updated

Football Buses to the Amex Stadium

Brighton & Hove Buses is pleased to be providing a network of bus routes serving the Amex Stadium on match days. The Albion are selling travel vouchers and we understand that 1 voucher = 1 bus journey. If you need to change buses en route to the stadium and vice versa, you will need to use another voucher.

There will be Park & Ride buses from Mill Road, Lewes Road (Mithras House) and Brighton Racecourse.

For matches with a 3pm kick off the Park & Ride buses will start running at 12.00 with last departures at 2.30pm. This will give you plenty of time to sample all the facilities at the new Stadium.

There are also three new routes linking most parts of the city with the Amex. SAVER tickets and national concessionary passes will NOT be valid on these three services; only the travel vouchers issued by Brighton & Hove Albion will be valid for travel. No pre-booking is required and space is available on these services on a first come, first served basis. We will be closely reviewing these services to see how they work. Please note that some journeys on these special services may be operated by Compass Travel vehicles, so please watch carefully for your bus.

Route P starts at Portslade (Southern Cross) and runs via Trafalgar Road, Boundary Road, Portland Road, Blatchington Road, Goldstone Villas, Cromwell Road, Seven Dials, Preston Circus, Beaconsfield Villas, Fiveways and Hollingdean.

Beware ... Compass Travel appears to have only single deck vehicles. "First come, first served" could mean you miss out.

Will Compass Travel only be using the Solos and Metroriders ? Although standard single deckers have space for around 20 standees very often the driver will only allow half that if he cant properly see out of the back of the bus.

Marvellous. Although this sounds like it could be a bit of a free for all at final whistle time!

"Transfer tickets" disappeared from the Brighton Bus system shortly after Noah stopped managing the network.

The fact of the matter is that the Club announced that books of Travel Vouchers would be issued @ £1.00 a game BEFORE they had any detailed discussions with the bus company about how they would work.

If you have to complete your B&H Bus journey by buying a bus ticket off the driver, because your Travel Voucher has only got you half-way, you'd be better off buying Saver tickets (online from Brighton Hove Bus and Coach Company ), at £3.00 for a day's unlimited travel on the B&H network and not bothering with the Vouchers at all.

Buying two books of Travel Vouchers will only cost you £2 for the day, of course.

OK , with the "transfer ticket" idea out of the window it would be cheaper for fans using 2 buses to the stadium and 2 buses back home to buy a £3.70 City Saver from the driver or buy a Day Saver online for £3. The City Saver does have boundary limits.

I don't believe that is correct. We have been told that a single voucher per match is what you need. I'm guessing that it seperates into two. Half there, half back. So if you had to use two buses to the stadium and two back home then under my assumption which I understand is factual then it would still be cheaper to use the two whole vouchers.

Sorry , I edited my post as a City Saver from the driver costs £3.70. As LB points out in post #111 , the £1 voucher was announced before an agreement was reached and B&H Buses have now made their announcement.

My view is that the cost is fair, whatever it comes out at, at covering all the club's costs (stewarding on this activity alone, transit buses & rent to third parties).

I do not think the Club should add profit to this whatsoever, remembering when there are times when the support dips, they don't want to exacerbate that with unnecessary costs to fans. Perhaps this is true already and they are only covering costs?
Universities and the Farm will milk this weekend bonanza.

But the problem now appears to be the case that some fans will have bought a book of Travel Vouchers in the belief that it will give them fare-free travel to and from games, when it won't.

The bloke in the shop told me that you don't hand anything over to the driver, just show the voucher and on you get. As long as your final destination is falmer it is fine to use, so for instance you cant stop off in churchill square, do a spot of shopping then carry the journey on

That's undoubtedly what the Club wanted to be the case. Unfortunately, it is contradicted by what the bus company says IS the case:-

"If you need to change buses en route to the stadium and vice versa, you will need to use another voucher".
