Maybe Bloom offered him a couple of thoroughbreds for his stables........ Owen couldn't look a 'gift horse' in the mouth
On the day the original Grand sighting took place May 6th (I believe though this differs from sources outside NSC) there was no racing at Brighton. This appears to be the pretence for Owen's alleged visit. A mate of mine at L&G phoned me excitedly and gave the date of the meeting as Thursday 5th May.
Now the price has come in from 7/2 to 5/6 in the last 3 weeks. So somone is lumping on as Sky wouldn't want such a ridiclous notion at such prohibitive odds otherwise. Now who in relation to this thread are completely massive punters who could have manipulated a market like this? Hmmmm!
Whilst drinking in Manchester City center last night and watching a masterclass of spanish football...I got chatting to this guy who was clearly a utd fan stating I am a Brighton fan.....He then openly says to me....you lot are getting Owen next season....he is talking to Brighton now!
Now I am one of those that laughed when I saw it on here....but I am wondering how much of this is true now?
'OWEN: Really likes horses. He spends all day betting and talking about races'
could someone confirm how many games owen was available for this season please?
i believe it's probably more than people think
so he has an interest outside of football. does this automatically mean he doesnt pull he weight in training?
How come a Brazilian ManU footballer defines Owen as being primarily obsessed with racing? Suggests Owen is not focussed on football at all.
Antonio Valencia: "He likes to mess around. He takes the mickey out of everyone, but then pretends he's all quiet!"
Darren Fletcher: "He loves UFC [mixed-martial arts' Ultimate Fighting Championship]. He watches it all day, records it, shows it to everyone. He knows all the Brazilian fighters."
I thought it was common knowledge that Owen doesn't give much of a shit about football. It's better than nothing, of course, but his passions lie elsewhere. Now, conspiracists might say that because he loves racing so much and our chairman likes it too, that they are therefore completely in love with each other and will both lower one's standards and agree to send the other into a modest bankruptcy in order to be together.
if it happens, i won't eat my shitty pants on the internet, but i'd be mighty surprised and a tiny bit disappointed that a growing club needs to bring in a generally-injured warhorse to up their reputation. I like us being organic and finding players with an uncrackable determination rather than putting together a laborious Brighton Globetrotters XI.
Yep. Tony Bloom has a couple of un-named 2 year olds at Manor House. This could be a sign of a newly developing relationship.
