I think the people in general would have a much bigger voice under Labour. We are pretty much being dictated to under the current party in power. When Blair/Milliband were leading Labour I had no time for them whatsoever. Had many a row with the old man about it during the Blair/Brown years (He's old school Labour) but now even he admits he got it wrong and accepted Blair wasn't what he advertised himself as. Anyway my point is, I really believe the reformed Labour party under Corbyn far exceeds anything else is on offer. The thought of another 6 years under Theresa May and the Tories would genuinely make me seriously question moving myself and family to another country.

There is only so much you can put the squeeze on people, but the Tories are intent on taking it to new levels. A country of this standing and wealth should have one the best education and public services on the globe. Yet look at how it's going!

We could discuss this all night. My best mate (retired forensic social worker who has seen it all - he sniffed out many a wrong-un, seeking release) is a massive Corbyn man. My political judgement has little value, especially according to my own opinion. I don't have the resolute certainty of the likes of some. We shall see. All the best.

Got a couple of more years to pay mortgage off, we have been visiting different parts of Italy for many years with regard to retirement but sadly Mrs Jakartas cancer has been our dominant interest over the past 12 months. Health puts all this political bollocks into perspective...

Not sure why I would want to go there? Does the fact I don't feel the way the country is currently heading under the current government automatically put me in to the "socialist/communist loon" bracket? I don't agree with everything JC says but I would trust him far more than anything else currently on offer. I believe he is a man of principle and of his word. I wouldn't trust Theresa May to babysit the kids, let alone run the country for another 6 years.

The whole political world is in a complete mess. These days we don't know who is telling the truth and who is lying. We don't know if we would lie about stuff because we have inside knowledge that leads us to to the conclusion that it's in everyone's best interest to do so. Lord Bew has been widely praised by Irish and British politicians for the significant contributions to the Good Friday Agreement. Also his many comments about Bloody Sunday and his position as adviser on the Saville Report don't fit with the idea of someone deeply partisan and further proof would be that he sits as a crossbencher in the House of Lords.

I had to google the Boston tapes to refresh my memory. Excuse my ignorance but what was partisan about the project ? Upon googling the main criticism seems to have been disclosure of the interviews without permission. Does this render the
content false ? You appear to be defending Gerry Adams and saying the tapes are false. Excuse me if that is incorrect.

I've heard mention by McDonnell that the motivation for his praise of the IRA was to stop them from feeling ostracised at a critical stage. By the same token, why then did Corbyn not use his significant influence on the LCI when they published a six-page character assassination of John Hume at a particularly low point in Anglo-Irish relations?
