Stuck in almost standstill traffic trying even approach Shoreham. Police should be out dealing with this. It’s insane.

Welcome to Brexit Britain. Where the traffic never ends and the food flows like brickwork.

Ah, but they've got their shiny blue passports back and can get their King Edwards in pounds instead of kilograms, so well worth all the teething problems they're going through

Cheers for that, thing is… can’t even go out hunting with only 32miles in the tank, and I’ve got work early tomorrow morning. Fuming about it to be honest. I guess I’m just going to have to gamble and hope somewhere has some :lolol:[/QUOTEIf]Like you I have a very limited amount of petrol in my tank. I can't gamble to find a station selling petrol. My only hope is to go to work Monday (56 mile round trip) and hope to find something open 4.30am up the A24, if not no work from Tuesday onwards.

We had friends come down from Newcastle on Thursday night for my dad's funeral yesterday.

They were going to head back tomorrow but these ****ing idiot panic buyers have ****ed that right up. They're going to have to spend an extra day or two down here.

No point just setting off for Newcastle with under half a tank hoping a petrol station on the way has some.

Sorry for your loss and that it is compounded with all this nonsense.

****tards queueing along the high street in Shoreham this morning. Twats

Went to M&S about 4, virtually no queue @ Stressco.

Have 2 empty scooters so could do with a 20L can full to do me for a week . . .may try tomorrow

Shoreham was insane this morning. And the worst of them? The absolute ***** on the opposite side of the road to the petrol station stopping and trying to push in the queue so that the side of the road that could be moving as normal was also backed up for about three miles. Because of two morons trying to bully their way onto the forecourt. Myself and a couple of other blokes on the bus wanted to get off and go and have a word with them but the driver wouldn't/isn't allowed to open the door on the roadside.

I think since covid began this is hands down the most selfish thing I have seen. Why others didn't get out and confront her I don't know but she needed talking to.

There is a shortage ! Having something like 50% of stations actually empty confirms that. Yes yes yes, plenty of petrol but its is a struggle getting it to the petrol stations, its all in the wrong place and there is a shortage of tanker drivers as has been mentioned before.

There is no fuel shortage.

Brexit

Next.

I have a friend who works for DEFRA, okay not directly related, but the talk is their is definitely a fuel shortage, the whole Taliban / Afghanistan thing has unsettled the region and oil production to the West has slowed/stopped. The lack of HGV drivers / Brexit is just a smoke screen.

Don’t shoot the messenger - not sure I believe it but he definitely did.

I am the boss :D unfortunately being a sparks WFH isn’t going to be that productive.

Sorry to hear that, clearly you need to get to Site. As will I shortly but can suck it in for a couple of weeks or so.

My second job (Hourly Paid University Lecturer) is Distance Learning so not so much an issue.

It would seem there isn’t any fuel in my neck of the woods, half a tank of diesel left on the firm.

What do you lecture?

Well it's kept us busy over a non Albion weekend, and it will be all over by the time things get serious on Monday night

I'm thinking of running a poll on the next shortage following toilet rolls, pasta, electricity, gas and petrol (I know it's not petrol, it's HGV drivers, but then we wouldn't have a poll ). Any ideas ?

And supermarkets isn't specific enough, it has to be by product, shelf or lane (ie skimmed milk, cheese, dairy), although I do think bin collection is specific enough to include individually. Everyone can play along

The problem in Shoreham is that the A27 eastbound is shut all weekend. Not so much to do with complete throbbers queuing for fuel. Everything has had to come down the Brighton road from Lancing and up the high street.

Oh the irony with a facepalm is personal though. You don’t know me. I was lambasting a selfish ****, and a complete stranger at that, as everyone is doing, but you chose to use it to have a personal dig at me by directly comparing me with that person. I’m not a selfish **** causing chaos. I’ve never panic buyed nor would. I deplore that behaviour. Polar opposite of that, as people would testify that know me unlike you whoever you are. Yet you're comparing me to that selfish prick person with your choice of words. Which makes it personal. Snide. Uncalled for.

Well it won’t surprise you that I think you’ve over reacted completely and i disagree with a fair bit of your interpretation ……………good thing is your are still here …best we just leave each other be

Not quite sure how someone in DEFRA would know about fuel shortage. Its not their remit.

Now, if he worked for BEIS.
