Good to see that our friends up the road have splashed out yet more millions on another flop striker.

Yep, all of a sudden our transfer business doesn't seem so bad:-

Totally agree. The Championship is a higher standard than the leagues we seem to buy our players from.

Apart from those players in the squad we’ve bought from Blackburn, Wigan x2), Fulham, Sunderland, Bournemouth, Celtic, Charlton and Portsmouth .

Despite the perceived wisdom (on here), there is no chance that the new manager will throw youngsters at this year's problems.

Then whatever you do, avoid reading this:

Graham Potter Interview - The i

“Potter won't be afraid to unleash whizz-kids

The new Seagulls boss has a track record of encouraging young players to step up, writes Nick Szczepanik”

2.5m for an international that has played loads of games at a decent level is good business.

His record suggest if he has a good season he could get to double figures.

Certainly not bad business

**regarding us ......... today maybe ? Had hope Monday would see one after the knocky thing. Surely any day now **

2015–2017 Aston Villa 51 (9)
2017– Swansea City 50 (8)
2018–2019 Crystal Palace 20 (1)

His 18 goals in 121 appearances over 4 years would suggest otherwise.

7 prem goals for Swansea in one season.

Something to work with for 2.5m

10m + yeah agree

2.5 - no brainer

His goal per game ratio in the Premier League is certainly better than our £15 million striker. So a better buy than Locadia IMHO

Not last season it wasn't.

Big Jurg scored twice as many goals as Ayew in a similar amount of time.

Do you need some straws to clutch?

We all do after the first half of 2019's debacle.

I'm not sure the diminishing returns of Jordan Ayew is quite the answer.
Neither is comparing a 5 year career with a 2 year one when a like for like example is readily available.

Apart from those players in the squad we’ve bought from Blackburn, Wigan x2), Fulham, Sunderland, Bournemouth, Celtic, Charlton and Portsmouth .

Here comes Captain Club....

To answer this:

Blackburn - when we were in the Championship
Wigan x2 - when we were in the Championship
Fulham - assuming you mean Button, it's our back-up keeper bought as he's a HGP
Sunderland - they had just been relegated to League 1
Bournemouth - when we were in the Championship
Celtic - are you saying the Scottish League is better than the Championship :lolol:
Charlton - when we were in the Championship
Portsmouth - they're in League 1

The point I was making is that we should look at the Championship more, as it's a very good league. The best 2nd division going

Who did we buy from:
Bournemouth
and beyond Bong, Wigan?

Easy way of not bringing through younger players? [emoji6]

Or getting them much needed experience [emoji106]

Will be interesting to see at the end of the season how many got their chance, one of the things Hughton was criticised for.....

All of that said, felt Hughton should have played Molumby or Sanders instead of Kayal, and Alzate has always been a good talent

Space needs to be made for then in the 25 strong Premier League squad to enable tghem to play league games. Who would you omit to allow that to happen?
