Yes it will be interesting to fast forward a few weeks and see where we are.

I do think that even if the Club is proven to have acted appropriately it will have a difficult job to regain the general regard it enjoyed across the football community. Even if Gus is shown to be the bad guy a fair bit of collateral damage has been done tonight.

I know we are all feeling a mix of emotions tonight but my main concern is for the players tomorrow morning. If they are taken in by Gus's statements then they may not approach pre-season training in the most positive of minds. I hope that Tony Bloom will be at training to tell them in person enough of what really happened and hopefully put the record straight. It will be interesting to see if any players had prior knowledge of Gus being sacked earlier than tonight.

Not just knee-jerkery.

It's amazing how posting a lie about how Gus found out about his sacking flushed out all the gullible, the slow-witted and the drama queens to fall over themselves to condemn the club, Bloom, Barber et al before collapsing into a heap of indignation. They feel that the club has shamed them; they should be ashamed of their own childish over-reaction.
