Theory about the latest Kidnapping

I have a bit of a conspiracy theory about the half English Half Iraqi charity worker that has been kidnapped.

I believe it is the Americans

Here me out before shooting me down

1) she is a charity worker and thus all charity workers have been withdrawn which will upset the locals and

2) she is half Iraqi which again will upset the locals no end.

With this in mind I believe that the Americans have done this hoping that someone will be either so shocked that it is an Iraqi, or is in need of charity aid that they shop the evil twat that has been undertaking all the recent atrocities towards their hostages
Apologies but can not remember his name.

Does anyone actually think I may have a point here or am I going to join Kev the Ape on the scrapheap

That is why I said conspiracy theory mate and by using the word theory meant just that. I doubt it to be true but it would not surprise me

Interesting theory.

Not at all. The kidnappers and insurgents kill Iraqis all the time, to get at people they drive for, or because of 'affiliations'. It's just like the French when they dealt death to the Vichy ''collaborateurs'' with the Nazis. The kidnappers and insurgents are heros to their own people.

Remember, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

The problem in Iraq is that now Saddam has been removed it has left a vacuum which the temporary administration is not really filling.

Every sort of 'group' is vying for power in much the same way as happened in Lebanon 20 years ago. Kidnappings and terror where just as prevalent then although the death threats weren't usually carried out.
Terry Waite was kidnapped for months and months but was eventually released unharmed.

The only way this sort of thing will cease is when there are free elections and one particular group of people get in power that the majority will accept and then there will have to be some sort of coalition with another group to keep the peace.

I think you have a good point, don't believe everything you hear on the BBC! Our press in this country are very wet behind the ears or the actual jornalists know all about what crooks Bush and Rumsvelt are but for obvious reasons they have to report things the way they should be reported.

Pretty sure he is talking about Al-Zarqawi rather than the actual person who has been kidnapped.

The point being that there are lots of different groups with different motives engaged in the kidnapping business in Iraq. The vast majority are n it for the money - encouraged by results like the recently released Italian women for which a group garnered a couple of million. Al Zarqawi is a different ball game - he isnt interested in the money but only for gaining the notoriety as the Number One Islamic terrorist, particularly since Bin Laden has been so quiet over the past few years.

The fate of Margaret Hassan very much depends on who has taken her - which hasnt yet been revealed suggesting it isnt the publicity hungry Al Zarqawi.

It will be interesting to see whether any major "unexpectedly positive" incidents in that region happen in the next couple of weeks, what with the US presidential election looming and the race for the White House being neck and neck.

Bin Laden captured, anyone?

I was talking about him and not Margaret Hassan. I know it is unlikely but then again we all know how devoius countries can be in reaching their goals
