In order to minimise the number of times I'm rude to people on NSC I (....you can guess the rest).

Still, your rant gave me a vicarious chuckle

Call the negative twats out  Great win eh H :)

Only with moaning pricks like you. I’m discussing football and the wider issues on a football forum - you are constantly being pulled up for basking in us not winning.

Your funny! Don’t think I have ever ‘basked’ about us not winning. No need for the constant insults either, try and keep control of any issues you may have and not to let yourself down!

Your the one, once again, moaning about VAR etc. Nothing negative about my post. They scored due to poor defending. I am very happy tonight. You seem to have a little anger issue there! :)

We won, given your usual negative posts I’m surprised you’re even on here tonight. Never seen a single positive post about the Albion from you. Pleased you’re happy but I don’t believe you :lolol:

Thanks Sir. I will take notice. PS - it’s ‘you’re’ Sir, as in ‘you are’. That’s 2 posts running you’ve let yourself down with your ability to use the English language x

Have a great night - seeeeeeeeagulls :)

Either you’re repeating Keown’s comments verbatim or you didn’t see the replay in which El Ghazi clearly looks back, lifts his elbow to face height and smashes it back into Veltman’s neck/chin.

Hardly smashed his elbow into him! Veltman got hit in the neck/throat/chest area and went down holding his.....FACE!

Poor form in my opinion.

Yellow at most.

Couldn't understand that one. Clearly contact which brought him down.

No way a penalty.

Crikey, what would this place have been like if we hadn't won ?

The amount of moaning about decisions that were perfectly reasonable is intense.

As regards the VAR for the penalty, my take (always from a neutral perspective) is this:

1) It was a soft penalty award. Barely contact on the follow through. I don't think it should have been given.
2) The above gets stuck on 'soft penalty award' because there was an a weak argument to say it was a penalty.
3) VAR rules on 'clear and obvious errors'. Soft penalties do not come under clear and obvious errors. VAR is not the referee.
4) I'd argue the Albion got some justice here. I would also argue, given VARs actual mandate. that we may have slightly got away with it.

I agree. Pleasantly surprised tbh. But we do deserve it. Only seen Veltman elbow once but I’m STAGGERED VAR didn’t intervene. So clear and obvious and off the ball.

Ps - Veltman is really good isn’t he...?!

Thanks for the punctuation! You are correct, we agree about something! Have a fine evening yourself! :drink:

Never take my rants seriously - I just love the passion of this place at times ;)

And FWIW I thought we were ok today - been far better in other games where we’ve been unlucky - we got a bit of deserved luck today x

Yep, blocked off. One of the oldest tricks in the book

A lot of moaning about us defending a set piece terribly again - however, I agree it was simply an excellent blocking play by AV, a practised routine that worked effectively with a good delivery in the box. Hopefully, we can work (a bit harder)on the same type of routines.
