Stranger on the shore by Acker Bilk was the top seller but the Beach Boys came up with Surfin’ Safari which was more to my taste. (1962).

And another vote for Mr Acker Bilk and Strangers on the Shore 1962 - though not forgetting Pat Boone's Speedy Gonzalez.......

Anyone else remember when we signed that Japanese Boy? Aneka or something like that, was a bit of a one hit wonder though...

This is by no means my favourite track from 1977, but the song title seems apt for the thread. Actually, listening to the song again I've realised that, with some tinkering, it would make a very good song for the terraces - it's quite plodding!

Do you remember the two original members of Foreigner who were from UK and what bands they were in before they helped form Foreigner?

The Beatles - The Long and Winding Road

Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song

Ah-ah, ah!
Ah-ah, ah!
We come from the land of the ice and snow
From the midnight sun, where the hot springs flow
The hammer of the gods
W'ell drive our ships to new lands
To fight the horde, and sing and cry
Valhalla, I am coming!
On we sweep with threshing oar
Our only goal will be the western shore
Ah-ah, ah!
Ah-ah, ah!
We come from the land of the ice and snow
From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow
How soft your fields so green
Can whisper tales of gore
Of how we calmed the tides of war
We are your overlords
On we sweep with threshing oar
Our only…
