Wasn't that you
No wasn't me, I was at home looking after you ! ! !
Wasn't that you
You weren't in that buffet carriage were you? I'm surprised anyone got out of that alive. f*** me that was carnage.
Sent by Derek Acorah via the spirit world.
what was the worst scenes anyone has seen recently ??
Worst for me was Canvey Island away when it just went off afters at road junction, although it was lots if missiles
Millwall were pussys compared to the games in the eighties, i can remember west ham at home half time in the North stand out came the claret and blue hats and scarfes then all of hell broke lose. Some tried to get onto the pitch by climbing the fence some fought back the OB just pushed them back in and did nothing, then the running battles after the game, happy days but best left in the past. Was anyone else on here in the north for that game.I reckon Tony was there
How recent ?
last 10 years
Grimsby (a) 2003 Cleethorpes seafront was a bit lively
I remember it well, the west ham were chanting "we are evil, we are evil..." and waving towards the north west, next thing you know a mob attacks from that area and they all come flying over the fence into the north from the pen.
One of them had a knife , i was only a kid so jumped onto the pitch only to be forced back in by OB, was f***ing scary stuff tbh.
I was in the buffet car with a few from Littlehampton right in the thick of it. The train pulled into Three Bridges? and it spilled onto the platform. It was a load of Chelsea and QPR fans who lived in and around Crawley as I was talking to them before it kicked off. Just before TB station they started swinging punches at Brighton. Bit of a crush as Brighton came from both sides of the train to get stuck in. 1989 I think
last 10 years
With the Albion
Most scary was Millwall in late 70's as my Mum and Dad took us in the South West terrace and next thing we knew it was the Millwall Treatment and Operation gang behind us and a row of very angry looking Police dogs in front. We were taken out and moved to the South stand terrace.
People have already mentioned Spurs and West Ham at home
More recently was Chelsea at home in 83 when they invaded the pitch, broke the goals and battered everyone about incl some Police officers pretty badly (Chris Hutching a Chelsea player at the time was charged with inciting a riot I believe - we signed him not that long later!)
Away
Hull City in the cup in early 80's. We got attacked going back to the station and the Seagull Special (from the now defunct Boothberry park station) lost most its windows
Barnsley away also in the FACup not long after the miners strikes. Brighton fans goading Barnsley about Scargill and it was a nightmare at the final whistle. Was club coach that day and a long trip home with no back window as all 3 coaches bricked on the way out.
Millwall play off win, but I think it was worse the year Ferguson scored when we won 1-0 and it was there first home defeat for nearly 2 years.
Peterborough away one year, we walked out a bar called Rumpoles into a stand off between the two firms out that day, we happened to walk straight into the Posh one! A couple of slaps but Police on it pretty quick!
England away
Probably first couple of trips to Poland. Got battered by the Police quite badly second time, plus we all got a slap outside the ground when ambushed coming off a tram, you had to fight to get to the away section!
The 0-0 draw in Rome, how we survived those few days is beyond me. We were lucky and chased into the posh seats and watch the game in comfort while most England fans got battered by the riot Police. The friendly a few years later(Beckham first game as captain) in Turin was pretty naughty. We got attacked and I ended up in the home end as some locals saved my skin and pulled me away from the hoolis! Got a personal escort round the pitch to the England section!!!
Also fun and games in Bratislava when the riot Police gave England a real battering in the ground - there was blood everywhere and 2 lads had been shot in the leg the night before - we were talking to one in a bar before the game - he had discharged himself!!!
And of course my personal nightmare of Turkey away in 93 - a game I wont forget!

All away in the last 10 years or so when there has been trouble, but nothing compared to previous years
Excuse my lack of knowledge, but were you the England/Brighton victim who made the headlines in Turkey i.e. was hit by a thrown object?
If I'm wrong I'm out order, but I believe so.
