The worst political 'interview' ever

My worst political interview ever has to be Newsnight - Paxman vs Chloe Smith, the 30-year old Economic Secretary to the Treasury Minister.

She entered Parliament as the youngest MP in the House and before that interview she was the youngest government minister at the time - a bright career beckoned. After the humiliating interview she was mauled in the media , removed from her post just over two months later and returned to the back benches. It was Paxman at his most ruthless.

I saw that. A bit unfair on her, she was hung out to dry by George Osborne and Danny Alexander and be forced to defend a position that had nothing to do with her. It was car-crash television but she was on a hiding to nothing, even Paxo feels sorry for her now

Peter Allen, on 5-Live, can be equally ruthless.

It seems that the interviewee has to 'start it', but if they do Allen won't even give it up when the corpse has stopped twitching.

I remember him once being patronised by a Local Councillor clearly enjoying her 15 minutes of fame.
The following 5 mins or so of the interview was jaw dropping, mesmerising radio he destroyed her with her own logic.

Eamon Holmes is a first class dickhead; and an arrogant one at that.
Patronising shite, so it was!
Everyone deserves more respect than he showed Corbyn and I speak as a Tory voter.
I thought Corbyn handled it rather well, and quite frankly, it just showed up Holmes for the cock he is!

here hare here
Why is he conducting a political interview as if he's sitting on a big over stuffed sofa with some formerly attractive bint talking to some D list celebrity? Why is he conducting a political interview full stop?

Corbyn doesn't deserve to share the same airwaves as a legend like Eamonn.

Eddie Mair is my favourite. He regularly stilettos people on Radio 4's PM, but he's so subtle that some don't notice until they take look down and see all the blood on their shirt. His most high profile monstering was of Boris Johnson, who seemed to walk into him expecting the usual easy ride he gets from the BBC, but instead was left trying to bumble his way out of being calmly and quietly proved 'a nasty piece of work.'

Mair should have got Newsnight in front of the mostly ineffectual Evan Davis.

God that was dull. Gave up after 3 mins

Pity. You missed the bit at the end where EH went on and on about Fergie, as usual, comparing his role to that of JC. It was in this section where he showed what an utter CJTC he is.

But yeah, I was hoping for a more interesting video. This was nothing like as bad as Kay Burley v. Dawn Butler.
