Bin them off from the big screens, but keep them on the advertising hoardings. Job done.

It's taken me years to stop singing 'For we're going up for to win the cup'.
I'll keep to 'Good ol Sussex by the sea'.
ps Japanese tourist was stood behind me, back row and there's a ledge we use to store our coats, and was told to stop filming the game but not to sit down!

No one in the East can see the advertising hoardings as the ones on the West aren’t digital

Look at The South or North then.

Like you have to for the screens.

Even with the words up, 99% of the crowd STILL sing them wrong!

…song, as we March along, of Sussex by the sea…

The next line is “Sussex, Sussex by the sea”, NOT “Good old Sussex by the sea” 🤷‍♂️
I have a fixation of the Norman Wisdom version in my head when it´s played at the Amex :(

It’s easy to see the screens high up but not so easy to see the advertising hoardings at pitch level when everyone is stood up. Fine for some fans but not all.

Strangely, it does to me. It gives the impression we are being taught a song. The song we all know and is special to us.

As for the 'good old' bit. I like that as a substitute to the original.
Do you really care that much what other fans think? Our ground, our rules.

As I say, I genuinely couldn't give a toss either way but with 7 and 9 years old coming to the games with me, it's not a bad thing from their point of view. They love the song and singing it but don't know all the words yet. And they still sing 'going up to win the cup' and 'good old' anyway.

Could it also be seen as demonstrating to away fans what we're proudly signing about?

After all, West Ham do it by releasing streams of bubbles while they are signing their inspiring song. ???:lolol:

(Bubbles. FFS! The most tinpot thing, even more so than Arsenal's big flags when they score, and assorted teams with their goal music)

Surely enough is enough now. Please for the love of all things can someone with connections to the people at the club ask them to remove the words off the screen. Please!!

I think 36,000 of us proved at Wembley that we can sing our own main song without words!!

It's a bit embarrassing now to have those words appear on the main screens every pre-game.

Also, any chance we can remove all the loud music on the build up to kick off so we can create a natural atmosphere.

Such an amazing time for us fans, so these little tweaks would be the icing on a very tasty cake.
Don't agree with that at all . I don't remember the words, it's an age thing and newcomers won't either.

I don’t have a problem with the words on the screens. My wife still mixes up “hark” with “sound” for some reason and I then get an occasional wobble when I get her version in my head and have a quick glance to reassure myself.

During a game, the “Oh Sussex” line doesn’t flow well from “All together now“, so I tend to do the double “Good old Sussex” on those occasions.

It was great that we managed it loud and proud at Wembley without the words on a screen.

Quite right too, what with the Stadium being a closed shop with only Goldstone lifers allowed in
Do those of us from the Withdean generation get a special pass for sitting in the pouring rain watching us lose to Kidderminster Harriers in League Two a million miles from the pitch?

Please get rid, also can't stand the cheesy 90s dance music at full time which has crept in. Want to hear our songs, for the players and the team.
In my new government, all goal music, pre and post game music would be banned. All these wannabe stadium DJs deserve a slow painful death for killing the atmosphere in the build up to and after. Wankers all of ‘em. How can 1 person be allowed to spoil thousands of others enjoyment is beyond me.

Ah, the natural atmosphere.

Was that the one that prompted clubs to introduce a bit of pre-match loud music to wake people up before the kick off?

And how about a half time BJ?
