Pitches with the largest slopes are Barnet, Newcastle and Sheffield Wednesday. The Goldstone sloped from north to south by over 6 ft.

It's not a great view from that section, especially when seated.

Two things make it even harder.

Firstly the photographers, who in all fairness move quite sharpish when it's pointed out they are restricting the view.

The other thing is actually the subs believe it or not.

When a few congregate around the corner stretching in and chatting, if you are sitting to the left of the area their presence knocks out half of the action up the other end.

But again, when it's actually pointed out to them they gladly move.

Never quite worked out why photographers and subs are drawn to that area when they could either be warming up at the other end or taking their photographs the other side of the goal.

must be the curvature of the earth!

surely athletics tracks have to be 100% level? As does the grass in the middle? Otherwise javelin/discuss throws would hit the ground sooner/later depending on if you were throwing up or down the hill!

must be bollocks!

This is correct with Withdean, but I have competed somewhere (can't remember where now) where there was an uphill slope just after the Hammer/Discus cage. What ever was measured on the tape, they had to add and extra Xcm to account for it.
