Sadly for us, when we come to the end of a series, Wifey becomes all 'gangsta'.

Pointing out to her she is actually a 37 year old, 4 foot 11 tall, wife, mother and allotment owner, in a Sussex coastal village, proves difficult.

She's now read that, and has threatened to pop a cap in my ass, for disrespecting her.
It's going to be such a long day, and a while before we watch 4!.

You need to get yourself an Omar or an it-she with a nail gun, and tell her if you 'come at the king, yo better not miss' :guns:

My flatmate went to se a play in brighton with dominic west in it (McNulty). He went round to the stage door to get something signed and ended up going out drinking all night with him. He got some photos of them in the pub.

I'm so f***ing jealous.

I think it's finally out of her system, but not till after we'd played 'The Wire' while out, walking the dogs.

She was Stringer
I had to be Avon
Our 5 year old daughter was Brother Masone
6 year old son Omar (obviously neither of them had a clue what was going on)
Our retriever was Pres

The only bit of realistic casting, our faithful ponderous black lab, was Lester Freeman.

I preferred it to The Sopranos, but have no interest in watching it again (too much emotional investment), where as I can still watch the Sopranos - that might not make sense,
but maybe you know what I mean?

Following on from the 'Any popular TV series you have never watched?', thread.

Today I received the complete first series, of The Wire.
As i'm so feed up with 'the media' but predominately 5-live, telling me it's the greatest programme ever made.

If it doesn't live up to The Sopranos I'm not going to be happy.

it is a cracker - believe

The Wire is superb, I've not watched the Sapronos, which I have heard is excellent but the adventures of the gangsta's, police and politicians in Baltimore really is compulsive viewing.

Six Feet Under is another series I have seen right through which is very good.

Welcome to NSC Nogood, you are already seem decent enough; full and structured sentences, an implied suggestion at the end...just remember this post when you end up just typing 'this' when quoting. Dont let the big boys steal your lunch either.

If you like the Wire, which I agree was superb, and Generation Kill, which was also excellent, David Simon has another series out called Treme.

Its now currently in its second series. Its set in New Orleans post Katrina, and looks at the lives of people from the Treme district in New Orleans. Treme is the district where many of the top Jazz musicians originate.

The series has much the same feel of the Wire in terms of pace and character development. It also has a fantastic Jazz soundtrack.

Well that's series 4 watched.
I pretty much agree with the comments that it was the best, so far.

The way the the story lines were all inter-woven, through the school, police, and politics, was outstanding.

I thought there would be more of a 'battle' for Michael between good and evil, but I guess his Dad's arrival made it easy for Marlo, to win that one.

It's well worth it.
It's very difficult just watching the one, when owning the DVD.
But the flow of the language is easier to grasp when watching 2 or 3 in a sitting!.

In my limited viewing I agree 100%. I watched the first two episodes back to back, and, after the first one I was having trouble with the dialogue but after the second episode it began to come together, albeit slowly.

My strategy now is to get three episodes lined up on the SKY Box and watch together, as you are doing. :)

When you find yourself thinking, 'what would The Bunk say, now'. Or worse still 'I am The Bunk', you are hook line and sinker, sold on The Wire.

When your whistling like Omar, it's time to ease off.
