Finished watching Series 1 and 2 on DVD a week or so ago and have now ordered series 3 and 4 from Amazon.

Any other fans of this quality drama out there?

Best thing on television ever. I'm watching it through for the second time now and it's even better than it was the first time round.

why are you buying it when it is being shown on BBC 2

Because I get the whole package (including cast and writer interviews and other additional bits) rather than having to record it or stay up later than I want to.

I watched a bit of an episode the other night, did seem really good but thought it was bizarre having this bloke giving a strange documentarian commentry throughout.

About fifteen minutes in I realised that I had the BBC channel for the blind on. :dunce:

 Not sure I can match that.

Omar is the man!

I started watching on BBC2, but due to impatience I have borrowed all the DVDs from a colleague. Starting season 3 last night...

Already quite possibly my favourite TV series ever.

Watching on BBC 2, series 2 is slower than series 1 but is now getting good (3 to go I think). Top program though and can't wait for series 3

Watched the lot last year, from season 1-5. Don't think I could watch it again even though I really enjoyed it. Guess there's just to much other things out there for me to watch, like breaking bad.

Same here, best sereis I've ever seen proably. The thread on here a couple of months ago got me interested and I've now seen series one and two and will be buying 3 and 4. So watchable that I have watched them through every free evening regardless of what else is on tv. Have to use the sub titles though..

f***ing magic. You can stick Ashes to Ashes up your arse (although Keeley Hawes would most certainly get it, and twice on Sunday)

i thought one of the best tv shows EVER for its first four seasons badly let itself down in the fifth season with some pretty heavy handed treatment of the media/police corruption storyline and the musical montage at the end showing you what happened to most of the surviving characters was completely unnecessary (i much preferred the Sopranos' what the f**k? style ending). shame because the first 4 seasons were superb and Omar was one of greatest tv characters of all time.
