I'm not trying to step on toes, or for that matter have any inside knowledge whatsoever.....I just feel that knowing the Cardiff forum as I do, and knowing how reliable Carl Curtis is with his info, even though he has not said it's a done deal, I believe that Noone will be a Cardiff player tomorrow.

No evidence to back this up......just a feeling.

I have to agree with you Bluebird1711, I have that feeling that we wont see him playing for us again.

He probably won't be on the coach as Gus was quoted in the Argus the other day saying he doubts Noone and LuaLua will be ready for tonight but they should be ready for Saturday. Who Noone will be playing for on Saturday though is anybody's guess?

Even if he's still with us I think he'll struggle to get in the first team at the moment

No chance with the way Will Buckley is playing at the moment and once Noone and LuaLua are both fit there's only one of them thats going to make the subs bench going by the way that Gus normally sets it up.

I like to think they all come into training bragging about how much has been bid for them, but none with any intention of leaving a great club, playing great football, for a great manager, at a great stadium, in front of great fans, in a great city.

All the boxes are ticked wonderfully by you there, but the over riding factor for a player is cash! There, according to Gus we are not on a level playing field currently.

Unless we have someone coming in, I''l be livid if he goes.
We are unbeaten in six, a sequence in which Noone hasn't featured. It'd be a shame to see him go as he is an exciting player to watch and seems to be quite a likeable lad, but ultimately we can't guarantee him first team football and £1m represents good business and funds to strengthen where we really need it.

Fair point, but if he has to go I think £1m is too low. I think £1.25m would be a fair price.

We paid £300k for him. Harsh on the player to see him rot in the stiffs after the service he's given the club, when the club stand to make £700k on the deal.

This is the thing about transfer fees. In some cases, you have to accept a slightly lower bid for the greater long term good. We don't want a pissed off player in the stiffs. Not only is that bad for morale, but what sort of message does it send to any future potential signing? You can bet your arse that one of the reasons Sam Vokes chose Albion over similar sized clubs is because the club has a reputation for treating its players fairly.

As much as I like Noone I really don't think he's worth that much, If Buckley was valued at £1m then I'd put Noone more in the £750k-£800k bracket maybe rising to £1m if Cardiff get promoted to the premier league.

Cardiff haven't even had a bid accepted yet, so why is everyone so sure he is going ?

Cardiff signed Kadeem Harris from Wycombe yesterday, he's a winger but only eighteen years old.

So you think Cardiff can guarantee him first team football? I think not... haven't they just signed another winger?

Why are you assuming he will be in the reserves? He has been one of our best players this season, so you appear to be basing your argument on an untruth...

Doesn't really work like that though. A player is worth as much as a club is willing to buy/sell him for, you can't just compare different transfers because it never stacks up.

Also remember that we got Noone on the cheap because Plymouth were in the shit and needed cash up front.

Personally I'd like to see him stay, he's not as far from the first team as people are making out and was class for us at the start of the season. Buckley will have a dip in form at some point, and anyone can get injured. To say we don't need that many wingers is thinking a bit small time, we aren't at Withdean anymore and we should be able to keep a bigger squad now.

Have it your way. Cardiff are spending £1m on someone they envisage as a squad player.

Ok, maybe not the reserves, but he could well find himself a fringe first team squad player here, and might be very fed up if we have blocked a move to a higher paying, higher placed club.

could find him a fringe player here? every player runs risk of that through loss of form ..fitness...suspension etc...maybe he is one down the pecking order with buckley scoring....but i don't think lualua is ahead of him personally...and that player is definitely injury prone...so i don't c that as a problem

I'd be more than happy to see Noone stay as I think he's a good little player but i'm not convinced he'll still be here after today, I'll be glad to be proved wrong though.
