I dont think that anybody is saying Tommy Fraser was a good player but a better player than the level he is playing now. He is a battler and every team needs a battler in midfield and I am sure that he could still make Div 2 or lower Div 1 side hence my question would his agent send his CV off to Mark McGhee, Sure his brother played for Bristol Rovers,.

Wycombe defender Adam Hinshelwood has been forced to retire after suffering a serious knee injury.

The 26-year-old underwent exploratory surgery a week ago after breaking down during pre-season training.

He told the club website: "I was hoping it was going to be a cartilage problem and I would return in time to run out on the first day of the season.

"But it was much more serious than that and the doctors recommend that I never play football at any level ever again."

He added: "They said that if I played in the future there would be a chance my knee would crumble and I wouldn't be able to walk again.

One of the things that stood out for me against Southampton was how a top Championship game could involve so many youngsters that originated from BHA 'Academy'.

Hammond, Harding, ElAbd, Hall, Forster add Cook and Dunk to the mix and it is a real triumph, many have enjoyed the Wilkins influence.

Never underestimate opportunity, some fail some thrive, but the same can be said for the high earners that are also brought in.

Next time you call for a player to brought in ahead of any homegrown player, pause a moment.

I noticed Wilkins on the FL show the other day whispering in Adkins' ear. Didn't see him at the Amex, I was wondering if he was still there.

Wendy was at the Amex, he was sat with Adkins. His once lush hair just isn't as big as it used to be so perhaps you didn't recognise him. Looks like a fatter version of Ray these days.

I do not think that he particularly likes the name Wendy by the way ;-)

I met him a few times in a football capacity and found him on a different level to others deemed of a similar calibre.

Quite intriguing really, his in depth knowledge of the game was impressive, but his insight into the finer details of player development was again fantastic and I am sure he didnt divulge much of his wealth of knowledge to a group of decent yet comparably under qualified coaches.

I noted Ricky Lamberts special mention of Wilkins in 442 about his training techniques that have helped him become such a force.

Cant help thinking we missed a trick with him, but onwards and upwards.

Really, why is that? Have I missed something, that is generally known, are Whitehawk known for having one player in their squad each season that is ex-league and on significant money?

when they were in the county league they were paying astronomical amounts compared to what other clubs at that standard do - when lewes were in the blue square premier, one player i know dropped down to county one to play for whitehawk as the money was better. you just have to look at their squad which contains countless players who have dropped down from and really should still be playing at a higher level to realise that a number of them are on significant money. i believe that conference south was at least the stated aim when the money men arrived a few years back

The trick we missed was making him manager to save money, he was and is a very intense, committed and knowledgeable coach. I can fully understand why he was reluctant to return to his former role when the club sacked him, he must have felt very wounded.

He had some injuries over Xmas and didn't get back in the team as quickly as he had expected, and was a bit public about it. He seems to be bit of a loose cannon when things dont go his way. Also looked as if he was going to move this window.

Yeh, but only because Mickey Adams was there, no normal man would've made him captain I'm sure.

Surely he could find a L2 club though? He wasn't a great player but he wasn't so bad that Whitehawk's the best he can manage.
