Mr Daltrey lives in my village (Burwash), regularly see him wandering up the high street and nipping into the local shop. Very short man but a rock god all the same

I spoke to somebody who knows Rd, over the phone, and he actually thought I was RD on a wind up call. Must admit, I was quite chuffed!

Ah! Saturday nights down the Florida rooms 63-64. They filled it with fish a few years later.
Then when they stopped playing there, up to the Scene just off Windmill Street in the West End. Happy days.

if you think Love Reign Over Me is a cracker then you should hear it in context as part of the whole Quadrophenia double album - total classic set. Any self respecting Brighton lad should own a copy of the movie too, it gives me an enormous sense of well being.
Also, Won't Get Fooled Again, Baba O'Riley, Behind Blue Eyes, I Can't Explain and the anthemic My Generation can't be ignored - but there as so many others too.....

ALL of Quadrophenia

It's the best album by anyone, end of.

I can think of at least 5 Dylan albums that are better and if we are talking bands who can rock even more Neil Young ones...different strokes eh?

I really like the Who but they are not the be all and end all band some would have us believe...imo

Your avatar or Live at Leeds?

The first.

The original vinyl for Live At Leeds is good, but only gives a brief snapshot of their show. The CD, on the other hand, has pretty much all of the show, and gives much more extended pleasure, as it were.

The pity is that the band recorded two shows, one in Leeds and one in Hull, for a live album release, and they themselves felt that the show they did the night before in Hull was much better. Sadly there was a technical fault on recording John Entwistle's bass.
