What percentage do Man Utd get for the sell on clause, I’m really hoping it’s as high as 40%

Well, the higher the sell on clause, the less likely he is to leave as the tramps will want more money. So there's that too.

He has said he wants to leave...so he will leave. That's the way it works.

Whats the option? Pay him his 120K+ a week to sit in the stand!

No, it's not. Coutinho tried the same thing, and ended up waiting till january, where things get a lot more expensive, as did cabaye when he was at newcastle. Palace will play hardball over this, and would be stupid not to do so.

It would be nice if Zaha could drag this out over the full 3 weeks that remain of the transfer window, thereby souring the pre-season atmosphere in the Palace camp whilst squeezing the opportunity for Palace to replace him.

Can you imagine the histrionics, tantrums and rolling about on the floor from Wilf, if palace hold out for a better deal.

Coutinho tried the same thing two days before the transfer window closed. All too late. Cabye is a long time ago which indicates how regularly clubs stand in the way of players now. If he wants to go he’ll be off before the start of the season.

It's actually funny reading the Zaha discussion thread on BBS! Quite a few people panicking that he's leaving!

With a fun stat:

Palace did not claim a single point last season when he was not in the team.
So much GOLD in that article, my personal favourite being....

"Palace had offered Zaha a new contract to reward him for his outstanding form last season and that would bring him in line with their top earner, fellow forward Christian Benteke." [emoji23]

It's clear that the lack of any possibility of decent investment in the squad has finally sunk in to the vertigo suffering grass chewer which is why he's gone from "Ooh I love Palace SO much" to "**** this shit, I'm off!".

He just better be careful not to trip over as he's evacuating the sinking ship at full pace or he might fall into the sea.

This could happen quite quickly (if it's not bs). Palace will want time to buy replacements and the transfer window closes in three weeks.
