29.6c upstairs here now, every window being wide open is making absolutely no difference due to no wind.

[Over the last few weeks/months the ambient temperature of the house walls, roof, ceilings, skeilings, flooring have remained high. With no cooler spell or huge downpour and warm nights, there's been no opportunity for the structure of of the house to cool at all].

No a solo exercise in spare room. Mrs Jakarta bizarrely is washing sheets off our bed, I'm afraid she can hang them up herself!

I can’t change sheets. Had to do it a fair few times when Mrs Q was poorly… I’m shuddering at the thought

Today it was 36degrees C but according to the weather box at the hotel it was 42degrees C overall.

Sea calm( yesterday red flags so no sea swimming) and the sea temp is 25degrees C

This is Chania in Crete. It’s fabulous here!

Lots of military activity this end of the med…..US and French fighters flitting about the skies and according to flight tracker. A Russian Airforce plane came over just after we landed. 10 minutes later 4 of the F-16’s that were parked up at chania airport took off in pursuit!

I love Crete!!

I think it's too late. The long term damage could be reduced with drastic action...but that seems unlikely with the current group of humans in charge of the planet.

Could it be that the scientists were correct about climate change all along?

I'm currently visiting my son in Colorado Springs, Colorado (first is name of city, second is name of state). The temperature is 32 C. And this is at 6,400 feet elevation. Because it is so dry here I have started to develop dandruff, nose bleeds and extremely dry skin in other places, if you know what I mean. Tonight myself, my son, 3 year old grandson, & daughter-in-law are going to a 2nd level professional football (soccer) game between the El Paso Locomotives FC and the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at a approximately 2,000 seat stadium (small athletic facility) called Weidner Field in central Colorado Springs. Currently Colo Spgs is in 3rd place in the Western Division of the USL. El Paso pulls in at 7th at the moment.

Back to the dry weather. Currently no outdoor burning or watering of lawns is allowed due to water shortages.

If you want to fill up your swimming pool you must get a permit from the city of Colo Spgs.

Here's to a Switchback victory tonight. Game time is in 3.5 hours.
