Tried and Also Wilsons in Leeds are fine pie makers.Our local speciality is the "Guiseley Growler" - basically a pork pie but as big as your head.
They actually sell it in the world food aisle at Asda. True story, I first encountered it on the off chance back in 2014, and was going to give it a try out of intrigue, only at the time Africa was at the height of its Ebola outbreak and I have this weird phobia about contracting a life threatening virus.
So I put the jar back, and we all lived happily ever after...
They do a version at Alloa ,scotch pie with cheese in a bap
That's a newer term. Back in the 90s it was served as a Pie Barm or a Wigan Surprise.
