There's a few GLARING holes, really.

Have we really NEVER had a player from BELGIUM?

And sorely lacking BALKANS.

Cherif Diallo is from Senegal - he made the bench against Blackpool on September 12 2000.

Eric Lancelotte was born in India.

hans kraay fan club - I think we need a stewards enquiry on Igor Gurinovich, as my sources are telling me he is Belarus rather than Russian.

To be honest, I'm fairly sure you are right. When he arrived, we all called him 'Russian' but of course that was true of Gotsmanov, too.

Yes, he was from Belarus which was still part of the USSR ( just ) when he played for us, although months later was independent.

Brazil is the one that's bugging me, I'm sure we had a player on trial/short term a few years back but don't think he ever actually appeared for us...at least not for the first team.

Raphael Rossi Branco, now at Swindon. Poyet wanted him for the development squad in 2011, but he had to head back to Brazil to sort out the paperwork to get a European passport. He came back at the start of the 2011-12 season, but his Italian passport wasn't ready until February. At that stage, his Brazilian club wanted compensation for him, that Albion were not prepared to pay.

He went back to Brazil, but he still wanted to play in England. Darren Freeman signed him for Whitehawk in December 2012 on a recommendation from Charlie Oatway. In July 2013 he got a trial at Swindon and earned a contract.

Thank you! That's been annoying me for an hour or two (and I'm too stubborn to Google).
