This doesn't look like police retreating to me?

The cops who went to the original incident were response officers responding to a request for assistance from social workers as I understand it. They didn't go to a riot and then decide to run away. Response officers would have no protective equipment to help them in situations of disorder. The would be trained to what is referred to as Public Order Level 3 and would involve them standing in a line trying to hold a crowd back.

The general tactic in that situation would be to hold the line with Level 3 officers whilst Level 2 officers (helmets, shields and some additional tactics) are prepared and then deployed to take over from the L3 officers. It would appear from what I've seen in the media that this was not practical or possible and the Level 3 officers were ordered to withdraw before the Level 2 officers were ready. Probably a decision not taken lightly, especially as it looks like they had to leave a number of their vehicles behind, and was done when it was clear there were not enough officers to hold the line and the only actual disorder taking place was the cops being attacked. It's not like they just ran away and left the social workers to sort it out for themselves.

From what I've seen, the Level 2 public order officers were very quickly in place, but that doesn't fit with the fashionable anti-police rhetoric that they just ran away because they couldn't be arsed and weren't capable.
Exactly, once the level 2 officers rocked up (and they turned up in numbers) the disorder soon disappeared, and they certainly didn't turn up just to run away.

But that time in-between the riot starting and the level 2 officers rocking up a lot of damage had already been done unfortunately.

You have misjudged the room here.

The 'event' started around a Roma family. Oddly, having lived here for many generations (longer than you or your ancestors have lived in Australia) they are indigenous.

The rioting was done by a mix of white, Asian and black. In other words locals. Wankers, certainly. But not because they aren't white. And some were white.

How many generations must you live somewhere before you become indiginous, and have the right to not be deported by the entitled majority?. 'Deport them' my arse.

As others have suggested, it is the arrival of the white man in Australia that f***ed it up for the locals. The loss of culture, forcible removal from family, lifetimes of displacement, alcoholism, depression, suicide.....EXCACTLY the same in Canada. Common theme? White people. English people. Arrogant colonials lording it about and treating the locals like subhumans..

So please desist from racial weaponizing of each and every episode where you see a bit of brown skin behaving badly. It is unhelpful, it presents no plausible solution, and frankly it is f***ing boring. You sound like some silly old Colonel Blimp, having emigrated to what was a black nation, moaning about the darkies and their wicked ways.

Edit: And I know you're better than that ???

Whatever.

You were sent a last chance PM asking you not to troll or make posts or threads about other users. You’ve done nothing but that for two days. See ya.
It was actually an Albion game at the Amex when you proudly proclaimed 'I'm going to Dublin with work' in other words 'look at me aren't I important.' Why tell us on here you are going to Dublin? Who cares!!

Sometimes I suspect you are on my part of 'the spectrum' :lolol:

Travel means the risk of being let down by the train or plane. It means standing around waiting. It means having to squeeze up with objectionable people, or simply the anxiety of having to share small space with annoying or smelly or space-pinching weirdos. It means being subject to a hosts' agenda. It means loss of freedom.

100%, I don't doubt it, and I'll happily share that space :lolol:

For a lot of years the odd person would say I'm "so quiet", "shy" (???), "such an introvert".
No, you're just ****ing annoying and I'd infinitely prefer to be far away from you at this very moment, ideally by myself or with the very small number of close friends I have that I can tolerate.

Who are we deporting. The ones trying to stop the riot here ?

The person trying to stop the violence is the Green Party councillor who some tried to present a perpetrator..

' i'm not racist but'. I believe this particular phrase has been discussed previously on the Nigel Farage thread.

No, it's not working. Something went wrong in Leeds. It's being looked into as a matter of urgency, beginning with the culprits being arrested.

But before you reach out across the world, and pronounce on our nation's problems on NSC, would it be a good idea to examine your own problems in Australia? And how Australia has spectacularly failed to deal with them for generations?

Google Palm Island, Queensland. It's a group of islands that is a dumping ground for aboriginals.

When I first became aware of it in the late 1990s, aside from numerous indicators of social deprivation (crime, violent crime, abuse, alcoholism), among the aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders, the suicide rate was over double anywhere else in the world.

At the time, I was working at Amex, with three Australians. I asked them about Palm Island. None of them had heard of it. It was obviously far too uncomfortable to be covered by any Australian newspaper or TV station.

Today, a generation later, it will be an interesting exercise to ask you how things have changed.

Is the Australian government still maintaining statistics for the residents of Palm Island? Or have they been switched off?
my wife has friends who have worked on palm island , you don't have to stop there , google alcohol restrictions Broome and Carnarvon , infant abuse , spousal abuse all of which are off the charts in aboriginal communities , endemic diabetes , the unfortunate fact that no one from England will grasp is that the Aboriginal culture is about as primitive as you can find , western diet does not suit them but you will find them loading up on crisps , cakes, rice , booze on dole day they will all get pissed , kick the shit out of each other , end up in hospital due to self neglect , abscesses and infected wounds , gut ulcers , infected feet , the list of ailments is endless but it is their " right " to procure alcohol just like any white fella so areas the size of Europe now have alcohol bans , i have an Aboriginal painter who works for me , nice bloke but when his "relies" visit from up north he turns up with black eyes , split lips , limping around cos they get on the piss and fight , when all his money is gone they piss off to the next family member , don't get me wrong its a massive and internationally embarrassing problem that at this point appears to not have an answer .....they get built beautiful country communities which they trash within weeks , billions of dollars wasted but i'm assuming with your intimate knowledge of Palm Island that you will be aware of all this.

You sound remarkably like those Australians I worked with in the late 1990s, who hadn't heard of Palm Island. They too gave me a long list of things Aboriginals did, of which they didn't approve. They too, complained about the alcohol abuse, and the tax money that has been spent on them, to no avail.

The similarity of your complaints to theirs is extraordinary, like a national narrative, cascading down the years. It jumped off the page at me. They made their complaints 25 years ago. Do you see the significance? Australia has failed to resolve any of those problems for at least a generation. In fact it sounds like the problems have got worse. And yet Australia still. Blames. The. Aboriginals.

The thinking doesn't change, while the problems get worse.

Perhaps it is Australia that needs to change. Not the Aboriginals.

What is that quote? A lie can travel half way around the world before the truth can get it's boots on?

Yesterday was speaking with a Japanese guy, 'half way around the world' who asked me about this incident having heard it was down to problems with muslims.
So well done T Robinson et al. Your methods work.

in the last 25 years i would estimate between 4 and 5 billion dollars chucked at Aboriginal issues , if anything i would err on the conservative side , damn f***ing right the problem hasn't improved in 25 years , what would you with your worldly knowledge , suggest Australia do with the Aboriginals who will not work , demand large tracts of land and coastline which they have been granted and are paid royalties by local authorities but do absolutely f*** all to maintain or upkeep , wreck any infrastructure that is built for them because its white fellas shit , Palm Island is off the east coast of far north Queensland , as i said , friends of my wife worked there in the 90's , they lived in Townsville , she was a midwife and he was an ex sas vet who became a cop , they were very liberal minded people but couldn't put up with it for longer than 3 months after he was hospitalised twice and her once after going to visit a heavily pregnant patient and her partner hit her in the face and called her a white **** ..........nothings changed in the 35 yrs I've been here mate , its an unfixable problem that we all have to live with , i'd be worried about your own country rather than what Australians you worked with 25years ago had to say.....get your arse out here , ill take you up to Carnarvon or Port Hedland , see how you get on....you would not believe it , worse than deepest darkest Africa mate. They actually don't want it any other way but you'd know that .

I can see you're getting aerated. That wasn't my intention.

I don't have any answers, nor would I pretend to have any. I'm just looking at the problems, over 25 years, and I'm reliant on you to tell me how it is, because very little information regarding the plight of Aboriginals reaches the public domain, let alone across the world to the UK. All part of the Palm Island experience I guess.

At the risk of repeating myself, it is clear that nothing has improved in the 25 years since Palm Island hit the headlines, (or 35 years since you went there). So whatever Australia has attempted, it just hasn't worked. A trip to Carnarvon or Port Hedland would surely only confirm this. What good would come of a tour in the police truck on Palm Island or Alice Springs? All you would be doing is highlighting Australia's long term failure, and seeking to shift the blame.

Here's the hard bit. Your advice to me 'i'd be worried about your own country' was clearly written without any sense of irony, which sailed over your own head. I wrote about Palm Island as a response to your simplistic uninformed post, advising us to 'deport all the Leeds rioters'. We are a liberal progressive society. We don't do that.

You were quick to advise we English what to do with rioters. But you are out of ideas on how to manage the Aboriginals, in spite of living there for 35 years.

Your rioters appear to come from Romania ( biggest joke ever) hundreds of Asian rioters on fb and tiktok beamed all over the world but the only arrest made is a Romanian..LOFL...WTF
To Romania we'll add Syria , Afghan, Iraqi, Eritrea and Nigeria to name a few ......all of the aforementioned nationalities have established cultures with constructed monoliths going back thousands of years , ancient cities such as Bactria , Palmyra , Homs to name a few off the top of my head , underground irrigation dug by hand that brought ground water to the desert , established trade routes through the most inhospitable parts of the world and last but not least at one time or another formidable armies of 10's of thousands with carriages , catapults , crossbows , longbows ..

then you have the Aboriginals who have basically not done a lot until 200 years ago when their culture collided with British , French and Dutch . It is an immensely complex problem which someone such as yourself has no chance of comprehending without first hand experience , for instance 6 weeks ago about 80 Aboriginal men got stuck into each other in the carpark of a large casino in Perth , the scrap went on of over an hour , over 50 cars damaged , 3 taken to hospital ( because they won't go unless they are literally on deaths door) casino staff and police injured , knives , crow bars , baseball bats used ....all because 2 different families happened to be at the casino at the same time , hushed up by authorities because it's such a shameful and divisive issue ......aerated..? nah i'm just pissed off with seeing my tax dollars pissed away on an intractable problem.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss views from the other side of the world. There's always something to learn, and there's always a different perspective.

How about a bigger picture? You don't know what you've got 'til its gone.

There is a flipside to that 80 man scrap in the Casino car park. Fast forward a few hundred years and imagine there were no Aboriginals left, or that the ones left had been assimilated into white culture?

Australia has an absolute treasure, unequalled anywhere else in the world. At up to 65,000 years, 50,000 of them in Australia, the culture out-histories the Egyptians by a factor of 7. It pre-dates all other indigenous peoples worldwide. US and Canadian First nation tribes are just playing at it.

The Ainu indigenous people of Japan (1000 years old): dying out.
The Guanches of the Canary Islands (3000 years old): gone.

Australia is the custodian of an anthropological goldmine. It needs to stop criticising it, look after it, treat it with kid gloves, and steer it away from the bottle and casinos.

Otherwise, one day, Australia will turn round and say, where are they all?

And this is the sort of stuff promoted by Tommy Robinson and lapped up by the likes of Farage and Lee Anderson who are not interested in the truth. there was an article about it by the councillor involved here in the Guardian today……

Fair play to Tommy and co. If it wasn't for them, I would never have heard of the Green Party fella. Just the sort of local politician that we need, seen sorting out the bins in that video.
