Big argument for Arda Turan who has been the engine behind Atleticos creativity this season. Possibly now the best Turkish player in history and unlikely EVER to go to a World Cup with this Turkish team.

The fact that Spain can leave out Isco and Roberto Soldado, who would be starters or at least squad members for basically every other squad in the competition is just MAD.

Yup. Argentina, Spain, France, Brazil etc can leave out players like that and we're um, taking Rickie Lambert...

Ander Herrera, another player not in the Spanish squad, is the kind of quality midfielder who would WALK into our and many other teams.

How would you rate England's chances, if they came up against this team?:

..................Cech................
Clichy..Ivanovic..Matic..Alaba
Nasri....Isco.....Turan....Bale
.........Zlatan....Tevez...........

Subs: Valdes, Lewandowski, Eriksen. Hamsik, Herrera, Coutinho

Seeing the players left out by qualified nations makes it all the more upsetting that we're taking Rickie. We'd have Ronaldinho, Luis Fabiano nailed to the teamsheet.

I guess there are the likes of Beasojour (sp), that long haired Wigan Honduran, Gonzalo Jara and Park Chu-young going, which would make another interesting 11, the worst players to go to the WC! Bit harsh on Jara possibly.

Bale, sadly along with the likes of Giggs ,Rush ,Southall ,Ratcliffe ,Saunders and George Berry i doubt he will ever grace a World Cup.

Good team.
Stick Gregory Van der Wiel at right-back and they would beat almost every side at the World Cup.

Wales might squeeze in in the future. They would need Bale and Ramsey to playing well, but a decent defender and goalkeeper through their ranks and they stand a chance of qualifying.

Matthews ~ Collins ~ Williams ~ Gunter
Joe Allen ~ Crofts ~ King
Ramsey ~ Bale

To be honest, its short of one proper centre back, and needs a bit of steel in midfield (Matic can move there if we find the CB)
Not John Terry, either.

Off topic but the Belgian squad (for all it's outstanding players and awe-inspired articles in British papers) features just two strikers, Lukaku and a 19 year-old who's never played for them and only played once for the U21s

They'll play a front three, with Lukaka at the top, supported wide by any of Dembele, Januzaj, Hazard, de Bruyne, Mirallas. I think they'll be okay.

Granted, they'll be cursing the injury to Benteke, if Lukaka picks up a knock...
