This tells you everything you need to know about British politics.

The Conservatives are bankrolled by the super rich. Labour's funding comes from thousands of small donations and trade union members.

Only JC's people-powered movement can take on the rigged system.

All that’s wrong with Unions! more Labour’s largest single sum was £1.3m from Unite, the trade union, which donated a total of £4.4m to the party over the three-month period.

The above taken from the Guardian.

It was, but you must have missed the bit that said that in that period £25m was donated to the Conservative Party, £9.5m to Labour. Of the total £40m donated to all parties in that period, 63% went to 1 party, did you not feel that was relevant?

Course he didn't as that makes his point as stupid as he is

He didn’t.
The issue with the unions is that the only reason Corbyn is leader is that the unions backed him, which makes life interesting if he ever becomes pm. It will be very interesting to see him tell the rail union to go forth in an industrial dispute when they effectively made him pm ...... 1970’s anyone....
Not much different from the Tories where big business heavily influences policy .....

i dont see the issue. parties are funded by people that support their views. or possibly not, just rather them than the other lot. not sure what anyone wants to do about it, any restriction to donations will scupper the Labour party reliance from unions.

What a bloody choice, 1970 with the unions out of control, or 1870 with the posh boys out of control, we deserve better.

Another piece of gammon showing stupidity, the Labour vote is one man , one vote. Not like the Tories who did their vote in private and put in May as leader without an election

I think even more shocking is the membership of the Consrvative Party, in the 1950's it was over 3 million. Down to about 150,000 in 2010.

They do not annouce their membership figures now, if the leader contest had gone down to May v Leadsom in 2016, they would have had to declare the figures believed to be about 60 to 70K, As they would effcetivly have elected the Prime Minister.

It is scary to think we are ruled by a party that is individualy funded by a few extremly wealthy donors and have a decreasing membership that is believed to be an elderly and fast declining.

Quite, beholden to big business or beholden to the unions.

Surely there is a better way to find political parties?
