Or, you could look at the first few games as him bedding in, and argue the final 6 games are the ones that are more representative of a Russell Slade bha team.

W4 D1 L1 which would put us top.

I would say the last 7 games. After the MK game we saw Slade playing just about the same team. Carole, Jarrett and El-Abd were dropped from the starting lineup (Carole didn't play again and Jarrett was only sub once) and Hart and Loft came in.

so that makes P7 W5 D1 L1

In total contrast to the Bookies:-

William Hill have us 6th favourites at 12/1
Corals have us joint 7th fav at 14/1
Ladbrokes - 4th favourites at only 9/1

Admittedly, Ladbrokes is very poor odds

And for the Wardy's amongst us, the spread firms reckon we'll get 70 points finishing 6th. ( sell 69 - buy 71 ) .

The table prediction in When Saturday Comes has us down as finishing in 14th. The table was based on each of the contributor's predictions. 3 of the contributors think that we will get relegated and no one believes we will get promoted

I imagine most of them know little about the division and will take the default position that the favourites to go up are the ones that were relegated from Championship, and those that were in the play off mix. The ones favourite to go down are among the teams that came up from Laegue 2, and those that struggled last year.

Well, the author clearly knows his stuff. Not having Joel Lynch is going to make a big difference this year. He was a key player for us last year, particularly the final escape. Losing him from last year's team is worth the drop in 6 places.

Does anyone know the author so we can all send him abusive e-mails?

Pork pie land.
They talk bollox anyway! This is last year's attempt:
"Brighton & Hove Albion

Came strong at the end of last season, only to miss out on the play-offs. They will hope to go one better this year under the canny Micky Adams, with a squad beefed up by the experienced Dave Livermore and Adam Virgo.

Predicted final position: 9" :wrong:

And yet, according to this years piece, "Last season’s relegation battle was grimly predictable"

It was obviously put together in a hurry by some junior nobhead who has not done his homework.

WSC get either fanzine editors or fans of clubs in that division to give their assessments.

Personally I think their comments tend to be spot on
