It's insane this has been going on for months and people still have no idea of the difference between 114 charges being sorted and 1 and why it takes so long.

How can you call it corrupt when they haven't made a call on the out come of the charges.

I think the issue is that the charges against City have been there for a long time. Of course it will take a while for ALL the charges to be addressed but surely one or two should have been addressed by now? Of course the legions of silks will slow things down too and the EPL will have its head up it’s butt all the while but even so,

That is why the suggestion of corruption comes in IMO. Cannot trust any of the buggers.

My concern is that the Premier League will not provide an outcome and pretend it never happened. They want to protect the "Big 6" even if those clubs cheat which simply isn't fair.

But we will see what happens and hopefully Man City will be punished for breaching the financial rules 115 times.

The Premier League comprises 19 clubs other than Abu Dhabi. The rest of the Big 6 only have 5 votes on every issue. If there’s corruption or collusion to protect them, it must include at least 5 other clubs.

Evertons PR has been very good, making out to be the victims

They over spent
They tried to hide it in covid / stadium losses
They lost 250 million before (correct ) adjustment
Their wage bill is horrendous

They cheated their way to PL survival.

I agree they should be separated out. Only some relate to FFP (or whatever it's called). They alone could be done.

Indeed but that excuse is bollocks.

They overspent by an extraordinary margin when first promoted to the Premier League. If they really cared about PSR, they’d have sold Johnson prior to the 30th June. If they’d have arranged Caicedo-style auction like the smart folk at our club, they’d have got well over £40m for the lad. He is very highly rated.

I’m sick of this moaning about the rules THEY signed up to. Boo-bloody-hoo.

In fairness (not as an excuse), getting £47.5 million looks very good business based on what I’ve seen of him so far!

I feel like this new focus on adhering to FFP could play to our advantage. We must be in a great place financially and could pinch a couple of other clubs homegrown players for a decent price.

All these shenanigans seems to have calmed down a lot of deluded fans who have suddenly stopped demanding their owners should get out their chequebooks.
Newcastle is a good example with many of their fans acknowledging its pointless buying players in this transfer window if it means they can't do any business in the summer.

Both Everton and Forest have concocted the most ridiculous excuses! They're akin to "the dog ate my homework".

Everton are complaining that they're being penalised twice for the same period, when the most recent issue includes last season (22/23), whilst the previous penalty covered the period to 21/22. Everton KNEW they were sailing close to the wind, so why the hell did they carry on merrily buying players in 22/23 (eg: Onana, McNeil, Maupay [!!]).

Forest bought four whole teams worth of players, but decided to sell Brennan Johnson AFTER the end of the FFP period. Idiots! It's like the kid in the exam hall carrying on writing after the time's up, and insisting his last answer be taken into account. It's cheating, guys.

I have a soft spot for Forest, and it's a great day out, but they really are stupid, and last season they stayed up by 4 points (and Everton stayed up by 2 points). They moan about fairness, and the media lap it up. But they don't think about the impact their cheating has on other clubs.

Everton deserved their 10 point punishment and should suck it up, as should Forest if the independent commission deems the charges are correct and punishes them both accordingly.

BUT

It doesn't sit right that City stand accused of 115 charges, and have thus far got away scott-free because their lawyers have tied this whole thing up in knots, obstructed and obfuscated the case every step of the way, withheld information and successfully dragged this out for years.

Everton and Forest have seemingly been open, have cooperated, and are getting clobbered as a result. City have been the exact opposite, and go on to win everything in sight.

I hope there is a dead reckoning in the post for Man City. But we don't seem to be any closer to seeing it.

It's also come out now they haven't paid bonuses or agents in a way to get round the ffp charge.

Everton are one of the founder clubs of the PL and one of the most historic club with clout within the PL

If it was corruption I would think Everton would be one of the safe clubs

It's easier and the punishment will be bigger if city punishments are all done at once.

The "look at City" stuff is Everton/Forest trying to distract people from the fact they broke the rules.

Been said but the City case is complex - goes back a long way, before FFP. Also a lot of the evidence was stolen in a hack / breach, so possibly impermissible - and not even sure if it’s all real.

Of course it has given them the platform to get to where they are today, and apparently within FFP Rules. But it’s completely different to Forest & Everton
