Agreed. I don't do thumbs. If I'm going to respond to a post then I'll quote it, but I have NEVER done a thumbs either way (unless it was by accident).

Same with Facebook. I've never liked anything, and never will.

I use them for things that make me laugh basically. Seems daft to quote and tell someone I laughed. Likes/thumbs make a nice little digital tip of the hat I think.

Well when I see I've got a notification, if its a quote then I'll go and have a look. But if its a thumbs, I often won't bother until I have a "clear out", as it takes forever to bring up the thumbs list up anyway for some reason, loading the whole messageboard into another tab. Bit of a pain tbh.

That wasn't a thumb war, that was a tiff. A spat at most. I gave Mustafa something like 500 thumbs down, and I think he gave me about 1,500 He registered the user 'Thumbs down" to help, when he'd reached the limit

808 total thumbs and only 186 thumb downs. That list is skewed towards people who thumb more in general. A better measure would be ratio of up to down thumbs. For example brightonmark has given 226 but only 426 thumbs in total, higher than a 1:1 ratio of down to up.

It's probably the opposite of cool to be honest. I made a conscious decision to be better than the rest of you scumbags, which isn't really cool is it. Still, we'll keep that between us.
