I was led to beleive that Birchall was a central midfielder that could also play wide, he doesnt strike me from what i have seen that he is a genuine wide man id like to see him in the centre of midfield i think we havent seen the best of Birchall yet either.

My midfield would be Mc.Cleod Jarrett Birchall Carole genuine wide midfielders who could get crosses in for our strikers and busy attacking central midfielders Jarrett can also do a holding role if needed.

I actually agree Birchall should be in the centre, with Jarrett. He's combative enough to play there in this league, he's already shown that I believe. I don't think he's got the pace to be effective wide, I'd rather have Carole one side and Cox the other, it's a shame neither are natural with the left foot, the only who is would be McLeod and he's so lightweight it's almost unbelievable.

If he played presumably he would have to stay on the left (ahead of McNulty) rather than risk over-exposing Cook (if he plays ahead of Whing)
