Not knowing the area, can anyone suggest the best way to walk there from the ground?

Cross the road by the Farm Shop. Follow the road past the pond lake on your right. At the end of the road there is a footbridge the crosses the A27.
The Swan in opposite. Probably a 10 minute walk from the North Stand.

Cant go that route after the game, the Pond is shut off.

You will need to come out the car park, turn left cross the bridge, run across the slip round heading towards lewes and theres a little path which leads up to the pub, not the safest of walks, but worth it IMO.

Its easily the nearest pub to the ground 7/8 mins walk no more. I thought it was a good setup tbh, sod fact previous owners didnt want the stadium, theyre not even there anymore. When i went there was a large area with 20+ extra picnic tables, an outdoor bar in a marquee and a bbq, bloody great for pre match if you ask me

Likewise before the game, I tried the Pond route and the stewards told me that I couldn't go that way.

In terms of the pub I thought they had done a good job. Hog roast/BBQ set up in the car park along with a small marquee with a temporary bar (the pub bar was obviously also serving as well). No wait for a beer. Lots of chairs/tables also in the car park. They had even put on Security. Seemed nicely busy but definitely not packed.

I was in there at about 1330 and reckon it was a 10/12 min walk from the stadium coach park.

I'll definitely use it again, if I have some spare time before kick off.

I went in the Hikers before the game with my son after waking down Makay Avenue through the wood to the A27 Bridge then down Coldean Lane.
The Pub was very good had a few pints of carling and srongbow whilst the son had a burger from the van and some chips from the bar which was also serving lots of bar meals like scampi ,curry ,pies ect all in all a good experence saw lot's of old Brighton Face's then caught the Pub Minibus for £1 to the UNI Tunnel to the railway station at 2PM

In a completely unrelated incident, were any Albion fans at the pub near Portsmouth's ground (away end side and the name escapes me)? They had a hog roast outside, £3.50 for pork, crackling and stuffing in a roll - bargain!

I was there, Shepherds Crook, with my two sons. I didn't have a hog roast, unfortunately I had just had a KFC.:(

Yes...the Shepherds Crook....was advised to go there....the most away fan friendly pub....saw the food outside but didn't sample...no problem from the locals.

So whereabouts do they stop you from walking that way BEFORE the game, on The Swan side of the footbridge ?

Went last week after the game, much t my annoyance. Anyway, shit beer, plastic glasses, and wasn't made to feel that welcome.

You looked quite welcome when I saw you in there after the spurs game. Looked like you (much like myself) had been welcomed in there for a while.:lolol:
