I'd be very surprised if that was wrong. Doesn't mean 100 per cent he'll get it, but he's obviously first choice. The Sun's main man did a big interview with Bloom, so they've got his number and a call will have gone in.

Totally 100% wrong there I'm afraid, the club did'nt do enough to stop him leaving and so he left for Reading.

DK/the club needed the 250k and Coppell would not have gone if DK had wanted him to stay...allegedly

if he wanted to be loyal to the club he would not have gone no matter what the money was...there is a thing called declining a job ?

You may be a paragon of virtue but in most jobs if your boss is happy for you to go and the job you are being offered is about 10 times better than the one you have, I suggest most of us would go.

I'm not sure that a single person on here is suggesting that SC is Brighton through and through so I had no problem with him leaving us last time and certainly wouldn't use it as a reason for not wanting him back.

Hiring an ex often doesn't work, but I don't blame Coppell for leaving given the situation we were in (no proper ground, no money etc). What decent manager would have wanted to stay with us in the last dozen years? Now that our new ground is becoming a reality rather than a pipe dream, there's good reason for a decent manager to want to be here.

I would certainly hope the deal was done for the new manager before Slade was sacked, so an announcement this week is certain, unless they want to see if Hinshelwood can beat his 10 in a row record!!

If a bigger, better employer approached you and offered you a much better job with much better prospects and much more money, and your current employer was pushing you into it as well as they would get some money out of it, what would you do?
