i understand why we have/are signing him but i would have put intrest into the place we need most which definatly is left back! currie is a class player i am excited to watch him again but we need to fill the starting 11 before signing back ups (i feel this is what currie is) is that afc wimbledon player signing? or kerry mayo getting another contract?

Currie may not play the 90, but he's CERTAINLY not being brought in as "backup". And he's not come here at the expense of a leftback - I'm sure Adams will sort that position out in due course. Plenty of time still.

On Skysports News now, saying club are "claiming" to have signed him.

Seems pretty much a done deal.
Probably only reporting because of what Adams said in the Argus. Nothing new. It is pretty much a done deal though.

Absolutely agree about Currie. I think Adams may mix and match with three wingers as McLeod and Cox may be better against slower full backs as they can run at them but Currie will offer more against faster defenders when he can cut inside rather than running at them. Also Cox could be moved into central mid.

defiantley happy with the signings we have made especially as they have all come on frees. looking forward to seeing them play! very happy with the signing of livermore.:albion2:

All in for nothing, except perhaps any signing on fee...agree with you totally about Livermore, he played in a very competent Hull side...just the sort of player that can add something to our squad. Normally I might be worried about us signing so many older players, but really think they will complement what was a fairly young squad.

and that "household name" still to come on August 1st........I think this will be an experienced striker that will come to us as one of the last steps of his career and be great coming off the bench or as backup incase of injury

For the first time in years we have a squad of players where plenty of competition for places will exist and we actually have a wealth of options on the bench to change a game should we need to.

With backup in many positions players can be rested so we will be fresher and stronger as the season unfold.

Very optimistic about this year we have got some real quality additions to the side

Currie was a useful player four years ago but even then had little pace,it looks as if we are putting together a very mature playing staff who consider Brighton is a fine retirement home.

Eh? We have signed ONE player over 30 at the moment (two if you include Currie) not really a mature set of signings out of five is it.
