Fair enough to argue for back pay owed to him (I certainly would!) but a done deal for us nonetheless so when officially announced will be the biggest non-event of the close season

i don't know why we are signing him to be honest.
we need a left back and a back up striker!!!
personally i think he wont get in the squad and we have robinson, fogden and others!

Right here, right now
We are signing him because he is a far better player than Robinson, Fogden and others and will create a shed load of chances for our strikers.

pointless wages being spent! would rather have a back up striker and a left back but i understand what your saying because he can come on and with his deliveries change a game!

i dont think you've seen him play then. he's one of the best players we've seen at the theatre of trees and the only reason he doesnt play at a higher level is a compete absence of pace. however, my recollection was he knew that weakness and could read the game very well so still managed to get back into good defensive cover positions or just pressured the ball in midfield. he's a team player who's very professional and will bring goals from set pieces and open up defensive opposition and hopefully mentor some of the young players who have the pace but lack the skill.

No never seen him except been every away game in the last 5 years! just dont go to home games as i live in doncaster/manchester!
seen darren currie many of times in albion shirt!
but i dont understand why we signed him when we have signed mcloud and we have cox and robinson. so the way you talk about him he will be starting then?
also we still need a left back and striker i would rather sign them first!

It is not wasted wages. Firstly, I would imagine we are still after a first choice left back (Haswell I would only see as back up if he signs) and a back up striker. Also, if Cox or McLeod are injured we are stuck with Robinson and Loft, who both flatter to deceive. Currie offers something different from the pace of Cox and McLeod and would be a great signing.

However, I do agree we need a new left back and striker.

i understand why we have/are signing him but i would have put intrest into the place we need most which definatly is left back! currie is a class player i am excited to watch him again but we need to fill the starting 11 before signing back ups (i feel this is what currie is) is that afc wimbledon player signing? or kerry mayo getting another contract?

It seems to me that Mickey has done very well with his signings, if this turns out to be true, we have added a fair amount of skill, guile and experience to the squad...a lack of which probably cost us last season...interesting times ahead methinks!
