And to cap it off there were 3 Leeds fans in front of me sarcastically taking the piss for the whole game however the couldn't be ejected as they did nothing wrong towards anyone else.

The fact that they were Leeds fans in the home section is enough to have them thrown out surely?

of course you could just sit down when asked? maybe?
Why should he? He's there to support his team not stand up and sit down when ordered to. People always stand up when it gets exciting (or when we score) so therefore you ARE allowed to stand when the occasion demands it. So who is to say on what occasion you're allowed to stand and when you must stay seated? That's a closed question as the answer is obviously a steward - and therein lies the problem.

. Really hope the club can sort them out for next season/Falmer

What is there to sort out exactly? The rules are that you should sit down. If you don't like the rules then don't go.

No - if they weren't causing any trouble, why throw them out?

The thing that need sorting out is the small number of fans who appear not to want to watch the game but simply go there to cause trouble and be confrontational with the stewards.

My issue is that if they are wishing to enforce the rules, then they should through out the ground.

The whole of the Leeds stand remained standing for the entirety of the game. Whilst 'two wrongs do not make a right', I don't think that applies to this situation.

Consistency is needed.

And the Leeds fans were probably thinking "If they don't sit down why should we"? so thay carry on standing. You carry on standing then because the Leeds fans are standing - stalemate.

Err ... no. The club ask the stewards to enforce the rules both the safety certificate and the law demand. Hardly the stewards fault but unfortunately some people are too stupid to recognise the difference. That doesn't mean to say there aren't bad stewards but generally we have a pretty good bunch.

I sat down throughout the whole game and didn't cause any trouble yet I was abused by all those around me. However, it was pointed out to me after the match that I had been sitting facing the wrong way.

I support the stewards in tackling those who stand up and completely spoil the game for others, instead of standing supporters should direct stewards to those at the front who have started the problem.
If dahdevon cant behave himself it will do us a favour if he is barred from the ground, particularly if his language is as bad as his writings.

Sat in H block. Love the atmosphere, and good on those who sing their hearts out. However the steward baiting is f***ing embarrassing. Them's the rules guys why the f*** are you so shocked and hurt when they have a go back.
Try being a bit savvy about it.
When you see the stewards heading your way, sit down. They'll then move off and you can stands up again once they're gone. But the abuse they get is really out of order especially as some of H block clearly see it as part of their match day entertainment.
So the Leeds lot were standing, I stand up at most of the away games I go to so it evens itself out.
"ooh ooh boo hoo they're standing up why can't I, it's soooo unfair"
Grow up, stop worrying about the stewards and support the team.

Actually that's exactly my point. Even the people who religiously observe every rule and regulation stand up every now and again during the course of the match. So my question is: when is standing allowed? I will be AMAZED if every single allowable exception is detailed in the Acts; if it is then you're right and I'm wrong. However if the law is vaguely worded then my point stands: it's down to individual interpretation of when it's permissible to stand and when you must stay seated.

The third alternative is that the law says something like: "Spectators must be seated at all times during the match" - in which case everybody, even the most supine and gutless goody-two shoes who blindly obeys every petty rule in this over-regulated country, is breaking the law!

Sounds to me like the Stewards are clueless badly trained jerks.

At proper clubs after a couple of requests they turf out half the first row standing and then say those in the first row who stand will be turfed out.

Its not that difficult, its one row and its easy to tell who stays standing up to take the piss, they'd soon learn.

It is half arsed sloppy stewarding, either let people stand and break the rules or f***ing deal with it properly.

I think you're over-analysing it a bit, if they're anything like Newcastle fans they don't give a toss what the home fans do. At away games Newcastle fans invariably stand, and there's so many of them there is f*** all the stewards can do about it.
