Agree with this. I think Group 2ers will have a very good chance. There are a LOT of reasons why people wouldn’t want to go at the moment.

I’m in Group 4 for this one so obviously have no chance. I’m not bothered though. I would go if I could but an evening game with the atmosphere of a pre season friendly isn’t worth worrying about missing.

Will definitely not have the atmosphere of a preseason friendly. Fans will only be there for two reasons - to enjoy themselves and to get behind the team!!

If the club was fair all priority levels decrease one for next game with priority 1 becoming 4. Says he as a priority 3, so I’d get to the 3rd game

True although there isn’t really a excuse for leaving early when there’s only 2,000 there.

I get that they can't use loyalty points all season and run a closed shop, but I feel that it would have been reasonable to do it for the first game on the basis that:

- As the first (competitive) game in 9 months, this is massive to a lot of people and might have been one where loyalty made sense. Provided all goes to plan and we have fans all season, I can't imagine any STH's with low loyalty points would begrudge this ONE game having gone to those with the most

- There's still the (hopefully unlikely) chance that we only have a couple of games before a new lockdown or Tier 3 restrictions put an end to it. I think it would be a major **** up by the club if some recent STH's were to get to these, and fans with hundreds of loyalty points miss out.

That wont work. There are only 2000 priority 1 tickets and far more in the other priorities given we have 24k ish STs and 1901s. Thats why it is a random ballot each time.

Fair suggestion and that’s how the Chelsea game was ticketed........and it worked brilliantly because it was essentially an away crowd.

So the way the ballot has been done with the various groups, does this mean if you are in lets say Priority Group 1 and you don’t want to go, you just don’t apply for tickets and you will no longer be penalised as missing a game

Agree. Personally think they could have done the first 500 on the top 2,000 loyalty points. Then put the rest up for sale in one window to remaining season ticket holders. Pretty much everyone has a chance that way, but those measured by the club as most loyal get more of a chance.

I've had a season ticket since '87 with the exception of the time at the Priestfield where I only went to 5 or 6 "home" games and I missed one year at Withdean when my twins were born (vetoed by the wife!) but still only got Priority 2, presumably because I only go to the occasional away match.

Priority 2 and not taking it up. The whole experience for me is being able to have a beer with my mates, watching the game and having a laugh then more beers after. I shall get the beers in and watch it on the telly. Somebody will use my seat if it becomes available so not to worry

I don’t think previous history has anything to do with it. It’s a random ballot. You were pulled out of a hat and are in the priority group 2.

Some asked if 1901 members were able to sit anywhere but I don't think they would be able to and the South 1901 lounge is the only one being used.
In addition there being given a food box with a pie, crisps, choc bar and soft drink so to give these to 1901 members sitting anywhere else would be a nightmare to organise and set up a few choice discussions between fans.
Anyway being priority 4 it doesn't matter but I want to know what flavour pie I'm missing out because if its the chilli one there will be repercussions.
