Apart from feeling like you have been kicked in the nads with steel toecaps once the jab has worn off its great.

Sex without the worry of more sprogs appearing is great.

I was more concerned that when the surgeon saw my tattoo and was talking away about the Albion he would forget he was only cutting and tying a couple of tubes and get carried away with his cutting movements.

Really odd feeling the tugging as the tubes are tied.

I'd love to get it done but I've always thougth of it as an older man thing.

I'm 24, is there any reason they might frown upon me having it done?

Nothing frightens me more than the thought of some bird appearing on my doorstep with a f***ing sprog in her arms that's got my eyes

Don't make any rash decisions like this at your age you may well regret it later on in life.

They won't frown, but my consultant laboured the points "complete family" & "not thinkling of changing the wife", etc.
You have to decide that kids are not for you - BUT if/when you meet a partner, she has to accept that kids are out of the question too.

That said, it is possible to do a reversal (see Hiney post above) but my consultant suggested success rates for reversal were low (this was about 10 years ago - procedures may have changed/improved since)

It does hurt but the worst bit is having to knock one out 6 weeks afterwards and then get it to the hospital within an hour so they can test the 'wriggle factor'

Got a great story of this:

I went private and when my six weeks were up I was asked to attend the clinic for "Jaffa tests" - no mention of bring a sample.

I sat nervously in the waiting room, and noticed the magazine selection was different. I mean, "Readers Wives" and "Penthouse" were a bit different fro the usual "Womans Weekly" and "Crochet knitting for beginners".

Anyway, a few minutes passed and then the nurse came in. She was probably in her mid-thirtes, pretty fit, nice hair, and the buttons on her tunic provide a glimpse of an eye-catching cleavage. Now, given that my fishing tackle hadn't been out of the bait-box for a solid 6 weeks - I felt a stiring in the nether regions - caused by this babe in a nurses uniform.

I could hardly believe my luck went she blurted out; "Would you like a wank Mr [Smith]?"

[pause - but not a very long one]

"Yes, please" can my stuttered reply. The nurse turned to leave the room, saying, "I'll be back shortly."

About 10 minutes later (just as I was begining to think I was on a wind-up), she re-emerged and said ........

"Have you had one yet?"

Does it hurt ?

Okay - It's now 5:30 which is just over 3 hours since I had the op. The op did not hurt - I found it better than going to the dentist. About 15 seconds of discomfort when the anaesthetic went in on each side but other than that didn't feel a thing. Friendly staff at Southlands keep you chatting to keep your mind off what's going on. Went to the operating theatre just after 2pm and was back home in Worthing by 3:40.

Anaesthetic has started to wear off but at the moment it just feels like I've had a gentle kick in the balls. Hopefully it will stay that way but I've got the painkillers on standby just in case.

One final comment. You have to shave the area before the op. They recommend using disposable razors in the bath. DON'T DO IT! I got my wife to use her bikini line shaver on me and it was nice and gentle and did the job. Much safer than trying to do it yourself with a razor.

No just looks like an aubergine for a few days. Tip is go to a beer festival - mine was Glastonwick - problem is you have little sensation (it like the lip after the dentist )o when you piss, you can't tell until you have pissed down your leg. Lay off sex or bashing the bishop for a few days as there is the danger of tearing a few stitches.

Then back to the hospital, for a wank to check whether they got it right.

Best bit was the Chumley-Warner tape, at least this is was what they made me listen to at Southlands & the strawberry blonde female doctor who insisted I drop my kex so she could fondle my gonads.

It's a good job you haven't been listening to Ken Bruce on Radio 2 this week. The talk was all about vasectomies and surgeons who claimed to have done their own.

My ex had it done a year after our daughter was born. He was fine and came home from the hospital all smiles and said how easy it all was.
Two hours later he suddenly keeled over in the chair.
The daft apath had fainted :lolol:

The worst bit is the sample. In the end I felt pretty stupid because I had to take the jar back empty. I explained to the doctor that I'd tried with my left hand, then my right but it was no good. So the wife had a go and she used both hands but still no joy. Even her old mum came in, bless her, and took her teeth out to have a try. But as I said to the doctor . . .

. . . we still couldn't get the f***ing lid off

Was easy for me.

The op doesnt hurt at all, then it just feels a bit bruised for a few days afterwards, and your balls go quite black. But you soon forget about it and the scars are virtually invisible.

Worth it, just think, years of shagging without having to worry about the consequences. Well handy in my job!
