Why was it racist? It wasnt denigrating anyone in any way, I've seen programmes where the reason given for west african sprinters being better is that they have higher or better levels of twitch muscle in their legs, in the same vein , east african long distance runners are better because they live and grew up at high altitude, black people dont make very competitive swimmers because their bone structure is heavier and not suited to it, nothing racist in that, a simple fact of life.

I didn't say it was racist, and Bushy's post is straightforward and factual - that's what's interesting, the effect of the physiology of people around the world connected or not to their environment, on differing sports' abilities: it's interesting. The Mail implying that 'selective breeding' (wtf?) is a factor at all, quietly implying that 'some good has come out of all that'; I find the tone distasteful. And absolutely unnecessary, given that there is an interesting scientific discussion to be had.

Whether the Blacks can run faster as a consequence of slavery is a moot point, one thing that is for sure is that many of their descendants (in the caribbean) have been left collectively as citizens of Jamaica/Barbados/St Kitts etc. desirable pieces of real estate with sustainable economies, notably tourism. The original native Jamaicans (Taino and Arawak Indians) don't even have descendants. They dont run fast or slow........they just dont exist.

Why is this a subject that can't be discussed rationally? Why would people get all het up about it? My opinion is that certain races are better at different procedures than others. Why do White people dominate in Swimming, Skiing, Surfing, shooting, golf, tennis, darts, snooker etc.

anal vommit was what got me ........having competed against black guys in a number of sports including football , basketball and ballroom dancing , i can personally attest that their ability to jump and sprint is , on the whole superior to us "snowflakes"............they do however , even though displaying superior riddim, fail miserably on the ballroom side of ting........do you have a theory here i wonder....??

Not read the article as I refuse to read anything by the fail. However, I would imagine that only the strongest survived the slave trade and those genes have been passed down. As far as swimming is concerned, I believe "white" people have a bone denisty that lends itself better to swimming than black people.
