I'm going a bit stir crazy. I've been isolated for 4 weeks, before it became trendy, for totally different reasons. I have shingles and its infected my eye. Apart from Worthing and Southlands and my GP I haven't been out. And because it's so painful I rarely get online because of my eye. So I just sit in my armchair, taking my meds and keeping my eyes closed as much as possible. I'm even off alcohol and haven't had a beer in nearly five weeks. I think I may possibly be going a little mad.

Get a free Audible trial. You can get a couple of free audiobooks and play them on a phone/computer.

There are also sites with free audiobooks - out of copyright stuff. No idea of the quality but might be worth a go.

Here and There
Start self-isolating today. Just waiting for my PC from work to be delivered. I've already had a mindful walk around the block and I feel lucky that I live just a moment's stroll down to the seafront. Others aren't so lucky to live in a place where they can get out in the open relatively easily... and safely.

Good news for me in France. I have found out I can go out to exercise my dog, provided there isn't anyone else around. I am surrounded by fields so I'm unlikely to bump into anyone...lol. I must have a signed form each day with reasons for being out and address etc. No more than 1 kilometre and not on a bike. The sun is still shining and the lawn has been mowed ..(twice now !). I have about another 300 sq metres of garden that is seriously overgrown and I will attack a few sq metres each day. Very satisfying too.

My children are actually phoning me for a change, so overall....very positive.

You have my sympathy, I get shingles from time to time, its not pleasant is it. I had my first alcohol for several weeks last night - 2 glasses of red - as I had been gearing up for my (now cancelled) gallbladder operation. It gave me a stinking headache and palpitations, so thinking of laying off it for good now or severely cutting down to just the one beer every now and again. Currently trying to adapt to both myself and Mrs.Joe working from home in our little two-up-two-down cottage. I've discovered she's a lightweight when it comes to tea consumption.

Only properly isolating since Wed. Although i only popped out twice all week before this.

I have so much i want to do, films, games, books but it is so difficult to do this with a 3 and a half year old climbing the walls.

If anyone is in need of 7 minutes of musical therapy I've got a new solo instrumental track out, it's quite chilled and a 'name your price' job, so have it for free if you like.....

https://darrenjholloway.bandcamp.com/releases

Anyone got any other Bandcamp recommendations for 'under the radar' artists for passing the time?

Used to isolate with 125 blokes for up to 3 months at a time and never ran out of anything but it got close a few times when the period got extended unexpectedly.
Never did me any harm

Thanks Rambo. That'll come as huge support to people who, due to heath issues, struggle to serve a coffee, never mind their country.

As most on here i have been a victim of the ****wits stockpiling and was struggling for meal... Been getting by on soups and sandwiches but i suddenly realised we had signed up to this food delivery site that we put on hold over the last few months. You pick between 3-5 meals to buy (about £40-£50) and they deliver the fresh produce to your door. Could be a handy solution for isolaters struggling to get meals... just another option. Good luck out there

That's a bit like finding a tenner in a pair of old jeans, nice one. Necessity being the mother of invention it'll be interesting to see what other creative stuff comes out of all this shite.
