A fan who attends most away matches might have 200 when we last went to a match, they lost 100 last year and will lose 50 this year leaving 50.

A fan who didn't go much away might have had 80 so now would have 20 so only 30 points fewer now when they started 120 behind.

The fan who attended lots of away matches looses out more as they have been unable to increase their points during the last season.

But those regular fans have been unable to increase their points differential precisely because they didn’t attend regularly. The club can’t reward people for last season attendance because they attended regularly the previous season. Just think of it as August 2020 frozen in time. Those people retain their points advantage.

Apologies to someone who asked me something but I haven't replied.
The notifications said 3 but when I clicked they all vanished and I have searched the thread and only found 2 people who I have answered.
I did search again but couldn't find your quote, apologies.

Its the ST being in smartphones which is a bit deflating.
It feels like we are being pushed into a world where we have to have a smartphone to be able to be a part of society and eventually that will lead to humans being chipped.
Its a Shame that in order to go to an event we will need to own a smart phone in order to attend that event.
It does say we can contact the club if we don't have a smartphone so I will have to see what that is about.
But I find this coercing of the population to become dependent on big tech companies quite disturbing. once society and big tech become intertwined there will be no going back and all our freedom will be lost.
I just want to go and watch BHAFC.why do I need to own separate products from a mobile phone manufacturer, and Google or apple in order to do so?
But I don't have a problem with all the other stuff.

Well the thing is you might see it as coercion others might just see it as moving with the times. This is the 21st century. When I started going to the Goldstone, it cost me 35p to get in, paid in coins. Since we've been at Falmer, I'm not aware of any situation where you can pay cash to get in! That means buying a ticket online or going to the ticket office to buy or by having a chipped season ticket card. I'm guessing you have debit cards that have chips that you're happy to use. The club are giving an alternative option but surely in the long run this makes it easier for majority.

Friend and I will have to contact several potentials and say although we dont know if either of us will miss any games if we do they will be on list of people we may offer ticket to. However just in case we do ring they will need to spend £25 for a fan no. Will not be able to do this as usually invite people where it is a real treat and they could never usually justify cost of a ticket.
Looks like will have to hope game sells out and can sell back to club or leave seat empty.
Will study print and hope will be able to hand over guest details as doesnt make sense to spend an additional £25 for one game

Yes I agree with you,I have no problem with moving with the times and I love the smart card but my point is that we are now at stage where we need to purchase or subscribe to a third party in order to gain entry.
The third party being a mobile phone manufacturer and Google or apple.
I want bhafc to be a big part of my life and am happy to pay for it to be so, but having to buy a smartphone and having Google or apple involved in me going to the footie I am not so keen on.
Also I can see this leading to yet another password that I fail to remember at a critical moment.

If you don’t have a smartphone they’ll give you an alternative (assume a card as now)

I understand what you say but the cost of annual membership is 6p a day. I don’t think that’s too much for the chance of jumping all waiting lists or trying to get on line to get a ticket on the odd occasions you can’t go and offer them your ticket.

7.2. By accepting the Terms & Conditions of Entry, you confirm that you have a suitable Smart Device on which you can receive and display the Club’s E-Tickets clearly. If you do not have a Smart Device you will need to contact the Club’s Supporter Services team at supporter.services@bhafc.co.uk or 01273 668855 from 1 June to request a physical form Season Ticket and provide a photo ID to be loaded onto you ticketing account.

Yes this seems more like it.
Thanks for posting, this has put my mind at ease.
This is much more like it.
A photo ID smart ST card for BHAFC.
I will get one of these.

So are there any seats together out there available to take over. We are both Albion + members on the waiting list?

There are just over 1,000 new seats which are most likely not 1901s and could be for STHs so a good chance.

In addition to that and from reading this thread, some will be giving up their ST too. I’d also imagine that because of Covid, a few STHs will have sadly passed away, others will have long Covid and won’t be able to attend whilst many more will be financially hit and will no longer be able to come along. Very sad but it could see a lot of those on the waiting list getting a seat.

i think you're a bit unusual to break down every expenditure into it's per day cost!

Didn't the club once say about 10% of season ticket holders don't renew each year, for whatever reason. Presumably some die, some move away and some can't justify the expense. Likely to be a higher percentage this time round due to covid I guess.

The club did say there are options if you haven't got a smart phone.

Yes thanks,I have found the details from another poster.
I probably overeacted a bit but we must be alert to our freedoms being lost to state interference and the infiltration of big tech companies into our lives as we emerge from the covid.
But I'm happy to see I was overeacting and the club does have an option for me.
I love this club.

.....but for anyone who gets use of an ST once a season and probably slips the STH the equivalent cash value, they will effectively pay the price of a Cat A ticket when you add £25.

Well yes, there is no right or wrong here. But I am an Albion+ member who pays £25 a year for the chance to buy tickets to the odd game. Seems wrong that people who actually aren’t that bothered about the club can get a ticket through other channels. The least they could do is stump up twenty five quid a year like the rest of us if they really want to go.

I don’t disagree and can see why it’s been done........but there an awful lot of STH that take a (non member) pal along very occasionally when another STH can’t go. I can see the closing of that option leading to lots of empty seats. If you don’t have an Albion+ member to pass the ticket on to (or haven’t paid £20 to do so), if the game’s not sold out then that seat will be empty. There’s no way of filling it.

All in all, we (football fans and clubs in general, not just the Albion) are in a position that suits nobody, thanks to draconian legislation to address an issue that really no longer exits. The requirement to ensure all tickets are linked to a name and an address is just not required these days (Covid notwithstanding but this all pre-dated C19, and Covid won't be with us forever in the way it is today). Ideally, STHs should be able to lend their ticket to trusted friends on the odd occassion they can't go and equally I should be able to roll up to AMEX with my kids at 2.30pm on a Saturday and buy 3 available seats on spec without having to be a member.

The need to have databases linking people to seats and ticket numbers doesn't suit regular fans, ocassional attendees or clubs. Frankly, it's all a pain in the arse.

Think the club will realise what a ball ache the smartphone thing is when lots of people either a) run out of battery or b) get a phone fault and it packs up on them. I guess they’ll just send them to the ticket office but as cards were working fine, it does seem a bit silly.
