For those of you who don't know the Seagulls Specials are football teams run by BAHA for people with various disabilities. My 11 year old son is Autistic and trains and plays for the Seagulls Specials. A good chunk of the REMF money raised goes to help fund this project enabling lots of people to play football when otherwise they wouldn't be given a chance.

Tomorrow I am travelling with my lad across to Holland where the Seagulls Specials are playing in a tournament against teams from all over Europe. He is so excited that he is going to be wearing the blue and white stripes in Europe, and win or lose I will be immensely proud.

Good luck to all the teams and players involved, and a big thank you to all the people whose hard work enables this trip to take place.

Andy hope your boy enjoys it and hope the blue and white win:thumbsup:

Firstly very good luck to him and glad REMF has helped.

Secondly I am glad you mentioned "specials" which is good as a parent because a few years back a silly spat occured over calling them specials.

Enjoy Holland - very nice and relaxed.

Got back from Holland last night, what a brilliant weekend. The Albion took 3 senior teams and a junior team. There were teams from Holland, Belgium and France as well as us and Chelsea also had a couple of teams. Brighton 1 came third in their group, Brighton 2 won their group and Brighton 3 came second in theirs.

My lad played for the juniors and although they only won one game and lost 4 games to come fifth in their group, this doesn't tell the whole story. Juniors can be up to 16 and under and we had one of the youngest teams in the group and there is also a fine balance between playing your best team and giving everybody the chance to take part. I think we got the balance just right and everybody got the chance to play and enjoy themselves. Every one of our players was a winner.
