The road to 90 points

I think Newcastle will drop more points than Huddersfield
They only have 4 more away games
So 6 home games, they have the worst home record of the top six
Their fans should be their 12th man and if the referee is weak maybe that will be enough.
But the fans are also their achilles heel, can the players perform under that pressure….they haven’t so far

One game at a time

If and perhaps a big If , we can beat Leeds next week they`re out of the race for top two spot even if they win they`ve still a lot to make up.

It`s tight now ...... Hard to call but we have at least three points and goal diff over Hudds......Bring on next weekend !!!!
Leeds have been pretty shite of late and reckon we'll smash them 3-1 :)

So you think Huddersfield will get 8 wins and 3 draws, or 9 wins, from their last 11 games? Minimum.

Burnley (last season) got 6 wins and 4 draws in their last 10 games Huddersfield could = 22 pts +71 =93. All but one of their wins was by a single goal.
Middlesbro got 5-4-0 . Newcastle could get =19 +77 =96.

You know what 'minimum' means right? KJP was suggesting that Huddersfield would do better than any team did last season, as a minimum.

History may suggest otherwise, but I believe 3 teams will get 90 points or more, so this thread probably offers a false sense of what will be needed to get over the line. Looking at Huddersfield's fixtures, I honestly can't see them dropping many points.

Their reliance on one goal wins is incredibly dangerous though. A bit of bad luck or a dodgy ref and they'll be in trouble.

Good to see Tammy Abraham is back for Bristol City for their game on Friday. He is the sort of player who could punish them. City have been solid at home for a while now too.

As their stunning 0-0 against Burton last week showed. I shan't share your post with my City fan friends, they would have a different view.

I can only hope that the pressing game starts to sap them so they become a bit ragged and don't win so many games.

This could happen if we lose at Leeds. 45 games, one to go.

This is not exaggerated and is less than the three clubs attained last season in the final 10 games.

http://www.worldfootball.net/table_calculator/eng-championship/

It means going to Villa equalling Huddersfield result at home to Cardiff.

It does beggar belief that we are here, approaching April, with 77 points and after a season where we missed out on an automatic place with 89 points, discussing how far into the 90's we need to go to secure one this season.

Newcastle have dropped 5 points in a week.

I am fast coming to the same conclusion that Newcastle might be the team that is more vulnerable in the run in. Their games look a bit tougher but no games are a foregone conclusion anyhow. I also think that it might take 95 or 96 points, perhaps more, to secure automatic Promotion

You're hoping against hope - they're hyper fit and he's got them totally cranked up like Duracell bunnies they're just going to keep going and going and going and going.
