New record out Monday which, on early listening, is a pretty cracking offering. Certainly picking up where the last album left off.

As if that was not enough, they are appearing at Resident Records at 6pm on February 4.

Been loving this band since catching them in Hastings yonks ago. There was only about 40 people there but they were superb.

If you buy one album next week make it The Rifles: Great Escape.

And I promise it will be better than the Blur one of a similar name...

Here they are live. I can't figure out what anyone might see in them though, fairly dull imho. The singer sounds like a second-rate Suggs, over a load of shite amateur 'percussive' strumming.

Sorry Walt, but you have blotted your copybook sharpish with this wank lot.

Saw them before Christmas in Manchester, playing a lot of the new stuff, and they were excellent as usual. Been waiting for the new album for a long time though.

Just seen them play in HMV in Manchester. Excellent band, good bunch of new songs, very chatty afterwards.

Well worth a look.

The only thing I can really recall from the last two years that was duller than the Rifles gig I saw at the Conky was when me and some friends spent a few weeks playing 5-a-side with the Albion lot at Buggers Hole. I feel like I'll probably look at the YouTube videos when I have time out of sheer tedious curiosity, but look at what they're wearing in the second video. If that song isn't jangly indie with precisely f*** all to say I'll be amazed.

What does that even mean?

Slightly O/T, and slightly sublimaly, due to the banner advert on this site at the mo, I came home with the Fleet Foxes self-titled debut album at the w.end and a fine listen it is too! Hurrah!
