In our current position, these polls will always be biased by the most recent result. A win is the light at the end of the unnel, the turning point etc., a loss is "business as usual" here we go again... we've been found out etc.

The polls should be carried out a significant time after the last match, to allow people to digest, reflect, etc.

You may have noticed that patience is something not often found amongst NSC contributors !

Even if Micky does turn things around it may be too late! We might still go down!!!

Unless he waits till April to turn it round we should be ok. Recently we have looked more and more like a football team, now we have signed a couple of proper midfielders who knows what will happen. I still expect us to finish somewhere between 12th and 17th this year.

Let's not get carried away with two draws away from home. And might I add, one of those draws was against Cheltenham and we were absolutely shit for 80 minutes. We definitely need to build on them through and hopefully starting against Hartlepool, if we don't win at home then I'm sorry MA has to go!

I've always said the biggest problem Micky's had is that he didn't realise just how lacking we were in certain areas when he took the job (fair enough, how could he?). Once he realised it was too late to get proper signings in so he papered over the cracks with a lot of loans. Now, at last, he's finally got a couple of his own signings in the problem area (midfield) and if a couple more come in I'm CONVINCED we'll have the makings of a decent Micky team again.

Completely agree.

There is one big problem...

All our new players seem to be on loan, or on short term deals to prove themselves. If they do prove themselves, they could then just walk out...

We need to spend some cash.

Exactly what I was going to say. Everyone we brought in so far is out of contract in a couple of months.

Can be that highly thought of if we wont comit to deals longer than 4 or 5 months

At the end of the season, quite worryingly we stand to lose this list of players from our squad

Andrew Whing
Kerry Mayo
Adam Hinshelwood
John Sullivan
Gary Hart
Doug Loft
Jake Robinson
Tom Fraser
Kane Wills
Kane Louis
Dan Royce
Andy Pearson
Sam Gargan
Chris Birchall
Jason Jarrett
Calvin Andrew

Doesnt leave much left. Kuipers, Virgo, El Abd, Lynch, Elphick, Livermore, Cox, McLeod, Forster, Murray

Why is that worrying, Brett? I'd be quite happy to see most of those go, and most of the ones we want to keep will agree to new deals I am sure.

Only worrying in the aspect of that we will only have 10 players contracted to us next season, which includes Lynch.

I agree it would not be the end of the world to see the majority of that list go, we need to change things, but if we change too much, we will be in the same position as this season, where a team is fielded that look like they have never trained with each other and just kick it high and long to a midget upfront.

I agree with the overriding sentiment, but I don't agree with the bold bit.

He should have known. Differing reports say he was in line to return as early as january, or as late as march, which gave him plenty of time to watch the albion. He should have known who were on loan, and a manager worth his salt knows who in a game is playing well, who is being carried etc. so he should have known for instnace that on loan Racon was covering for the weaknesses of our permanent players in midfield.

He had plenty of time to watch dvds of the games that year to get to kow the players, their strengths and weaknesses, and how this affected the squad as a whole.

Dick Knight could have easily got the dvds of games to Micky without having to reveal he had signed, or was planning on it.

Even without the dvds he has dean white, dick knight, nicky forster, michel kuipers etc to help him get to know the squad and the weaknesses.

Either he was too lazy to do the research, or too arrogant to believe he needed to. Either way, I don't think it's "fair enough" that he was so unfamiliar with the squad.

You might be right in the last part of that, but to start off with MA didn't get his finger out and if they were his tactics they were poor. 'Papering over cracks' with loans is no excuse ffs. Even if Wilkins did leave such bad 'cracks' that they required filling, the loan players sank us fairly quickly into a mire that we do now sit in.

You refer to issues as if they're in the past once again, as if we can now relax and breathe again that we are sound. Well once again that's bollocks, and "now at last...problem area" is dreamworld nonsense that you are grasping from the ether-world. :smokin:

I know it will be satisfying for you, if you can EVER eventually say "I told you he'd come good", but this is hope and prayer from another 'new dawning' - of which we've now witnessed several.
Facts; you have not seen all these new players in the squad (if any)
New names don't mean squat, my gran has a name, and she won't score goals based on her name either. :nono:

Personally, I could care less "what you've always said", as this latest post is just rubbish. :bla:

Other than that, you are alright
