Perhaps…

None of them?

Genuinely love this Brighton squad as is. Improvements still possible and already excited for next season. As widely discussed priority should be retaining what we’ve got with contract extensions. Replace whoever is lost in the summer of course. But there isn’t much from the relegated 3 I’d like us to sign, but I’ve picked out a few players.

Ben Foster. He’s old. If he’s happy to be number 2 behind Sanchez I think his experience will help push Sanchez on. Probably too expensive. Short term move. Won’t like being a number 2, not inspired.

Dennis. Decent forward who was in great form at the start of the season. Looked decent out wide too and still young.

Sarr. Another Watford forward… that should ring alarm bells! Hasn’t had an amazing season but has been linked with many teams. Probably too expensive and will go elsewhere.

Cornet. Head and shoulders above the rest of his Burnley teammates. Would be very pleased to see him here, but unsure if he fits the “no dickheads” rule. Offered Burnley a lot of goals from out wide or through the middle.

Anyone else worth a look?

When you've finished 9th I'm not sure players who have finished 18-20th will really improve you.

Have we ever singed a relegated player, in our EPL era?

Pope and McNeil both decent not many others spring to mind

McNeil has one assist and no goals in 38 games, and that assist was a week ago lol. He’s shocking.

Cornet is the only player in the bottom 3 that gets into first 11. Pope would get on bench I guess.

None of them floating my boat. We have some players coming back who have had superb seasons on loan and some others around the squad who look superb. If a couple of players leave, replace them but I think Ashworth’s development work is about to pay off big time

Aaron Ramsdale seems to have done ok after being relegated two seasons in a row, and Arsenal have had their best season for 3 years with him as first choice. There are players that get relegated that can improve you (not saying any of the current crop will though).

Good example of player, to be fair, but I'm not sure Arsenal fans are happy with this season considering who beat them to 4th.

Arsenal fans aren't happy (are they ever?) but he's the perfect example of a player from a relegated side improving someone, even if they didn't improve quite as much as their fans hoped for.

Sarr and Cornet are the ones who spring to mind.

But I agree with those saying, it's unlikely we will be looking at any players from relegated clubs.

We'll be doing our usual, find a star from the Papua New Guinea 5th division, loan him out for a couple of years etc etc

In fairness he was bought in to replace Leno and/or Martinez.

Now sure I thought Ramsdale was shite and it was a shite deal, but by the same token he wasn't exactly signed to replace Gordon Banks or Perry Digweed.

I never said as a replacement did I but he’s certainly better than Steele and an England international so he’s not appalling

I said his distribution is appalling, because it is. He can't kick. Compare that to Sanchez's range of passes.

He's a good shot stopper and box commander and obviously better than Steele but reserve keepers are used so infrequently I can't see any use for him here. My guess is he'll stay at Burnley.
