[Football] The Ref

It’s so frustrating watching a game of football where any sort of aggression in a tackle results in the game being stopped for a freekick.
The game today would have been so much better with a more lenient ref (for both teams)

Got both penalties right, still frustrating seeing two players shoulder to shoulder, the first one to go down gets a freekick

Ref did well. Tried to play the advantage a lot to keep the match flowing

I thought he played advantage very well and had a good game

I thought his advantages were dreadful, but I think that’s more a case right across football now. If you keep any sort of possession it’s considered an advantage now but a full back with the ball and no options is not an advantage.

Also he was completely wrong to book the Saints keeper.

He booked Stephens who was 5/1 on bet365 to get booked before kick off.
Aftertiming, I know, but, kerching!:D

He was, therefore, an excellent ref.

Fine, but was wrong to stop Murray closing in to score the winner. Ali and the defender’s meeting was inconsequential.

I thought the lino was flagging for offside anyway...............

As regards the ref, I actually thought the opposite of the OP - he went out of his way to play the advantage as much as he could - arguably a bit too much at times (ie when it did't look like there was a clear advantage)
