Whether or not you support the monarchy I hope she gets over it quickly and will be able to enjoy the rest of her Jubilee year. To still be working aged 95 is remarkable but to do it with Covid is incredible. She is some woman.

Agree - not a big fan of the royals but the Queen does a brilliant job & I expect William & Kate when their time comes will be good as well . Us Americans love the royals usually …

If anything the fact the queen has only mild symptoms and is continuing her duties should argue for the relaxation of restrictions, she’s 95 years old.

It was rumoured a few days ago she had it but unconfirmed so it appears she’s probably well into the symptom window now and only has cold like symptoms.

There are certain subjects like Brexit and covid restrictions that some people will find any way of linking a said story to suit their narrative, very strange.

Chuck and The Rottweiller had it a short time back, shows how contagious it is.

This. Vast majority are only getting cold-like symptoms now and the vast majority of kids have had mild/no symptoms throughout the whole pandemic. At some point we have to live with the bloody thing - now is the right time imo

Agreed. Since Christmas my mum's had and she's 89. My mate's mum had it and she's 92. My sister's also had it. She's only 58 but she's asthmatic, diabetic and has had leukemia, so she's not exactly a picture of health. All three of them have recovered and said they've had far worse colds (They're all triple-jabbed).

So anybody who thinks we need to keep up restrictions, test, trace, lockdown, isolate, wear masks constantly, sanitise, have vaccine passports and basically carry on living as if we're in the middle of a zombie apocalypse is being a teeny bit paranoid, IMO.

Could we keep on topic please chums.

Plenty of opportunities for debate on other threads on political issues.

Thank you

When The Queen gets it, it shows that we are not out of the woods yet and we still need to be careful and test to stop infection.
But don't worry, this week Johnson will get rid of all restrictions and end free testing, even though kids are not yet vaccinated.
But Johnson doesn't care about The Queen after all he has already lied to her and held a party on the eve of her husbands funeral.
And all because he wants to be liked and become the king of the world.

Spot on.

I'm sure I speak on behalf of the Nation and indeed the commonwealth when wishing her majesty a speedy recovery.

It’s totally just, fair and accurate.

No, it's actually total bollocks, but I realise you have, shall we say, a prejudiced view, that you cannot overcome. If you are anti-monarchy, that is your right, but the idea that Her Maj has just sat on her arse for the last 70 years is just extreme stupidity, bigotry and prejudice, carried to the utmost limit of credibilty.
Argue your case by all means, but just don't use untrue bollocks as part - or all - of your argument. That's pure Donald Trumpism - but I doubt if you'll ever recognise or acknowledge that.

She’s probably just said she has it so she can get some time away from her pain in the arse kids and grandkids before one doesn’t have to isolate anymore. Last chance for some peace and quiet! Don’t blame her for a second.

I jest, get well soon Your Maj.

Ha! You’re probably right.

Andrew: “Mama - it’s me. Ok if I pop round later to borrow that £20m?”
The Queen: “One’s got Covid. Try your brother.”

Ouch! That's what you call a proper bollocking. :lolol:

Total over reaction in the extreme. It’s neither stupid, bigotry or prejudice. It’s simply an opinion that she does do very little.

Yes, your reaction was totally extreme. Come back and try making your point when you've worked for 30 years after your retirement age. Forgive me if I don't bait my breath while I wait.

An opinion that is very wrong ...

To suggest she has done 'very little' over the last 70 years is laughable (plenty of other words I could have used ... but thought I'd keep it within Bozza's rules)!
